Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Feeling a bit groggy this morning from not enough sleep, waking up early, and a few beers last night. Chilling out with some 2017 In bloom from bitterleaf which is a Jingmai.

Re: What Black Are You Drinking

Keeping warm with some Assam 2nd flush from Yatra on this snowy day. Drinking more black tea in this weather. Oh awesome! Halmari or Khongea? Hope you're liking whatever you're drinking! The Khongea. I do thank you. It has good flavor: slightly savory and malty with some dark fruit notes but withou...

Re: How much tea do you consume per day?

Very little. I drink tea maybe 1-2 times during the work week in the morning if I have time. I generally do 2-4 sessions per day on the weekend depending what is going on. Tea time is generally a time to relax so if I don't have the time I won't force it. I very occasionally will have some tea at wo...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Some Dong Pian Rou Gui. It is lovely. It is lighter and slightly buttery/floral. I completely overbrewed this the first time I had it(it was a mystery tea) and it is better this time around.

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Drinking some heavier roast Rou Gui from lazy cat tea. It is waking me up very nicely and tastes great. Do you think they're teas are worth the price? I've considered ordering their tasting box. I'm not huge yancha guy(maybe 300g total before this winter when I've been drinking a lot more), but I l...

Re: Is it ok to leave tea in my jianshui pot overnight?

I never do in clay teapot (I have on accident and it made the pot smell icky but this was much over 12 hrs). I have in my porcelain gaiwan before but am rarely happy with it the next time I brew. It seems like bad practice and bad habit that has little payoff (the tea is worse, can affect pot season...

Re: Inert gas flushing at home

Pedant, I think this will be fun experiment to do blind. I'm curious how it will affect other teas as well. Would it preserve a roast and moisture creep of a yancha? How will it affect aging puerh? Yesterday, I tried looking up which bacteria and fungal is aerobic and anaerobic but I didn't get much...

Re: Troubleshooting: Site Issues

I think the text boxes/borders are slightly very hard to see on my computer(always used my phone until today). I didn't notice it on my phone, but my monitor is slightly less blue and more natural/yellow(it would probably be even worse when I have my nighttime filter on). I couldn't see the boxes a...

Re: To rinse, or not to rinse.

I don't rinse matcha (hehe) and other green teas. For gaoshan or yancha I'll usually try some some of the rinse
and also try it cool . Puerh always rinse at least once(dirty shu/sheng twice).

Re: What to brew for a friend with no sense of smell?!

A strong shu would have some nice texture and enjoyable if you miss the subtleties. I think a strong sheng could also work if you get some bitterness/spicyness. Those two don't rely on smell as much I don't think.
