can you please share a pic of a tea session with it sometime? i'm curious to see it in use.

also, how's the pour? does it resist dribbling along the outside of the spout?
I'll post pics and video when I get home. Pour is good, I didn't really pay attention to dribbling, I'll update later.

Re: Glass teaware from Japan

ok, done joking around. it looks very nice, and now i kind of want one. very cool stuff: https://www.buyjp4u.com/products_list.asp?PMID=35 btw, that appears to be silver fumed glass. it's a vapor deposition process. if you let tea residue build up on the surface, the color will pop more. try viewin...

Re: Pesticides: Are Chinese and Indian teas safe to drink?

I wonder if ignorance really is bliss. That's my take on this. At the end of the day, you are giving your trust to someone--farmer, vendor, organic test, it doesn't matter. We can learn more about the farmers and the vendors to make an educated guess but that's all. Honestly, I don't have the emoti...

Re: Glass teaware from Japan

debunix and Bok , I got it on buyjp4u. They occasionally have glass pots there by this artist, but this is the first time I've seen a side handle kyusu there. They have another one with the same color/design but back handle, I think it's still available (in case TAD has been activated in anyone :mr...

Re: Sheng and shou puers stored together

Do you find that storing sheng and shou together causes the flavors to mix? I have been religiously keeping mine separated but I would like to build a pumidor since the temp and humidity in our house is..... not great. It fluctuates wildly and I'd like something more consistent for the teas I wish ...

Yeah in the end I just wanna keep my cakes fresh while they last.
Yeah that’s my strategy as well. It helps that I just enjoy young sheng.

Re: Is home aging a myth if you don't live somewhere hot and humid?

Teas We Like swordofmytriumph How big (in grams) are this Boveda packs? Are 8g enough? I am storing my sheng cakes in thick aluminium foil storing pu erh bags but recent experience with one of my cakes made me thinking if I should add some source of humidity in those bags. The ones I buy are 60g an...

Glass teaware from Japan

I just got the most amazing glass kyusu. Went to post pictures and realized I needed to create a new subsection! Share your Japanese glassware here. It is made of borosilicate glass made by Ryuta Mizukami. Volume is around 200ml (max 240 but that’s to the rim). Pour time 14 seconds. It has one of th...

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?

I want to get some good quality green tea first, which in my previous experience gives more obvious results, compared to red teas. You know, I hadn’t thought about it before, but you’re totally right. I always subconsciously steered clear of black tea for water comparisons (though I always used gao...

Re: Coronavirus

All the areas seem to be voluntarily or forcibly cutting themselves off from outsiders to avoid spread of the virus. So buyers will have difficulty or not want to go to the farms. And the farmers might face shortages of workers and on theirs side not be able to send out tea. I wouldn’t expect anyth...

Re: Pesticides: Are Chinese and Indian teas safe to drink?

Not having the label “organic” doesn’t mean it’s not produced in an organic way. The label organic is usually very expensive to purchase and for quality producers not even necessary as the quality product sells itself. This right here. Given the choice between choosing "organic" tea and tea where t...

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?

Hey, thanks! You live in a beautiful place! If I lived that far out, I'd probably not bother and would just use tap water too :D We live within city limits (Magnolia) and the building is fairly old so there is that additional layer of concern. I'll definitely try tap water too though - I've been us...

Re: Sheng and shou puers stored together

Depends on the temp and humidity of the room you store your tea in. I find that leaving my tea out tends to make it lose its aroma. My solution is to put them in plastic bags (garbage bags will do) with a couple Boveda packs. They tend to both smell and taste better when I store them this way.

Re: Pesticides: Are Chinese and Indian teas safe to drink?

Baisao , how do you choose your teas then, with all of this in mind? You know on the one hand I feel like I want to be careful and drink organic/healthy blah blah.. but then I have no way of knowing what is safe beyond what the vendor tells me. I try not to worry about it too much because there's n...
