Re: Tea pets
I'd love a western style dragon with wings... That would be so cool.

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Hm, guess I'll have to try some taiwanese Tie Guan Yin then. I'll probably like it better than I liked the Chinese stuff.

The effect of charcoal filtered water on oxidation fired teapots
With all this talk recently about the quality of water, I was reading some old articles on Hojo's website. In this article, https://hojotea.com.my/posts-61/, hojo talks about how using charcoal filtered water with oxidation fired teapots can negatively affect the flavor of the tea. He says that the ...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
So I had never been a fan of Tie Guan Yin in the past, probably because all the ones I've tried have been the nuclear green version. I kinda gave up on it pretty quick in favor of high mountain taiwan oolong. I've never been quite clear on the difference between Chinese Tie Guan Yin and Taiwanese Ti...

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?
I do just fine with tap water, but then the water in the Seattle area is notoriously good (I live in a small town 30 min east of Seattle and we are on ground water). Maybe I’ll swing by the water district office tomorrow and ask for their testing results. Our water is so tasty, I find bottled water ...

Or worse, the smiling bhuddas. Why can’t they have cool one. Iike a dragon? Though I have to say, I do think the piggies drinking tea pet is a little cute. There is no self wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 12:44 pmI agree that a lot of them, such as the classic pee pee boy, look a tad cheesy.

Re: 12 Days of Kyusu
His site is really bad news! And he is a hypnotist. Before you know it, you have purchased multiple kyusu! Don’t I know it! I have two coming now. Should be here sometime this week.  Great! What size(s) did you purchase? I got two pots by Watanabe Tozo, a 200ml Mumyoi pot, and the 150ml...

Re: What Black Are You Drinking
I can’t recall. The golden dragon one, I don’t think it was in my sampler? But the assamica and the red jade were, and yeah, IIRC you’re pretty spot on with that, and I remembe the steepings holding up fairly average, not great, not terrible. I liked the Yuchi wild mountain best because it was just ...

Re: What Black Are You Drinking
I remember having that tea last year in their black tea sampler, so I've poked around for my notes :) Don't remember it being too creamy. I've definitely found sweetness both in aroma and taste, almost honey-like, but with more clean/rocky note, so rock sugar? Tartness got classified as cherry, it'...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Hi, Laoshi, my friend and mentor, has a little shop in Taipei, not far from Da'An Park. He is a dyed in the wool traditionalist (not to say old fashioned) and he will have no truck nor trade with any "awful green mess." Laoshi has tea gardens in a couple of different sites including Lishan and, of ...

Re: What Black Are You Drinking
Thanks! if you decide to drink it let me know how on point I am, I’m new to this whole tasting thing. Up until recently, I’ve been a more, if I like it, it’s good and if I don’t.... I’m learning to put more thought into my tea. It makes it so much more enjoyable, doesn’t it?
