Re: US Vendor sourcing from WuyiOrigins?

This isn't always true. Our Taiwanese Oolong farmer sells online as well, and we were able to lower our margins enough to match his prices, while providing faster and cheaper shipping. He prefers it this way, because he wants to focus on producing quality teas, not shipping small retail orders glob...

His website is a bit of a mess, but he's friendly and helpful by email, and his green teas are stunning. Totally redefined the category for this green tea novice ;)

Re: US Vendor sourcing from WuyiOrigins?

Last year I paid more than 100$ for shipping. specialized vendors in China that I have ordered from in the past (pu-erh, white, green, etc) charge something like 10$ for shipping (Some more and some less). One way to cut these costs is to find a good “generalist”, and preferably a local one. If, as...

Re: Black vendor topic

Hi! Despite of that I'm quite newbie with hongcha, I love it the zhengshan xiaozhong (lapsang souchong) from white2tea. I took advantage of the fact that I was buying some puerh and try with my first no smoked lapsang. I don't know if could be a good recommend for somebody, but I found it tasteful,...

Lio Bao, Aged Sheng, Shou. I figure the healthy bacteria & fungi might be a boost to my system, even if that's probably nonsense.

Also, just occurred to me, maybe some aged white?

Re: Research Corner: Interesting Journal Articles

Anyone know of research that discusses the effects of different dissolved minerals on extraction from tea leaves? Trying to figure out what the ideal mineral composition would be for tea water, more specifically than just 20-150 ppm TDS.

Re: US Vendor sourcing from WuyiOrigins?

I'm not sure that it was here, but I have heard about a U.S based vendor taht is sourcing yancha from Cindy Chen (Wuyi Origins). Anyone here heard something like this and perhaps know who that vendor is? Any reason that's necessary? Cindy's shipments always come quite fast, and with pretty cheap sh...

Re: Global Tea Hut

has anyone tried the symphony wild red tea they offer right now? It's outstanding, one of my favorites in my current collection. 2008 bug-bitten "shan cha". Somewhere in the middle of a darjeeling, dian hong, and bai hao oolong - flavors of honey and spices with lovely aromatics, and good body due ...

Re: cheap/medium yancha

In my opinion Wuyi Origin https://www.wuyiorigin.com/ has very good reasonably priced yancha This would be my suggestion, too. Her more expensive zhengyan teas are still aound the .5/gram area. For mystifyingly cheap prices and a rotating stock you might want to check out ChaWang Shop. Have you tri...

Re: Muzha TGY cultivar

Taste wise - a roasted Jin Xuan will be very different than a roasted TGY right? True TGY varietal plants are less common, so more expensive. TGY-style teas are often made from non-TGY cultivars, though Si Ji Chun is more common than Jin Xuan because it's related to the original TGY plants genetica...

Re: Muzha TGY cultivar

that is indeed a bit weird... Probably the vendour refer to the kind of processing? TGY is always roasted in Taiwan, the green variety of China does not exist. It has to be said, that names of teas in Taiwan do often not adhere to historical or scientific accuracy and are used with freedom. Cultiva...

Yes a sample I get from emmet, the tea has grown in taiwan and processed as yancha. I'm based in France if you want to trade.
Sounds cool, but shipping between France & the US is probably pretty expensive.
