I bought one and, comparing notes with this thread, I'm starting to think Jinpachi Ogawa teapots are generally poor quality. Or at least, there is a high chance that you get one which is of poor quality. I did not see this thread before my purchase. Maybe it would have dissuaded me from getting one...

Is it? From casual observation it seems to me that Japanese teaware is much more drawn to dark, muted and blackish colours, rather than red.

The admiration of vermillion extends beyond teaware for both cultures.

I don't think it is so much about pots in general needing to pour fast and clean to make good tea, particularly high quality teas. Many dedicated tea friends can ultimately work with the quirks and charms of older pots to make most teas work, and work well, enjoying this process. But if I buy a mod...
