FS: Qing/ROC Neiziwaihong, 150ml

Neiziwaihong, yes, you read that right - a fine example of a late Qing, early Republican Zisha clay, coated with a fine layer of Hongni. This technique, although most famous during green label, has actually been used since the Qing dynasty. The workmanship on this pot is quite good, look at the curv...

Re: How to get into the the tea industry/advice from vendors on how to proceed

One thing I consider paramount in getting access to the best(or even good) teas: relationships . Be it with famers, teamakers(as those are often separate people to the farmers), wholesalers, tea sourcers, retailers etc. All that takes time. People spend decades to build these up and maintain them. T...

The way they are replying and not assuming any responsibilities over past actions, doesn't bode well for Steepster's future...

Re: Adagio overtakes Steepster ?

Yeah I read that as well... seems like that is going to be sudden death for Steepster.

Adagios latest strategy of revival of Teachat seems to have failed spectacularly, even fake accounts and a super motivated marketing person could not reanimate it.

Re: FS: F1 Green Label Zini Xishi, 90ml

Due to shipping troubles to some countries, I have been unable to ship this teapot to its new owner.

For this reason it is available again!

Re: The (Western) Yixing market

However, the curve is bathtub-shaped. British and American auction-houses semi-regularly carry artistic Yixing that goes for quite high prices, but these are bought by art collectors who are not terribly interested in tea-making. Cast-mold versions of famous works are also sold as novelties at bric...

It’s quite common to put water in porous clay jars to refresh and improve its taste.

Even described in the tea classics.

Re: F2 teapots

... not to derail the thread, but how does one determine that a pot is "Factory 2 or 5" (as with one of the Chawang pots, and the TeaLife HK pot)? Does factory 3-4 even exist? 3 and 4 made mostly flower pots and other utilitarian things. There must be some documentation on F2-5 pots that allow for ...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Try using more time at lower temperatures, definitely not boring at all, will depend on leaf though. When I first got my Konishi kyusu, I was perplexed how to pair them (they are pretty thin and dense) so just observed for months admiring form. Now, I use these with certain lighter roasted Oolong a...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

@Victoria lovely pot! I have a weak spot for his works, a lot of skillful variations in his work.

Baozhong is a really weird tea (for me), it can be atrociously boring if brewed too light, but I have also found it difficult to over-brew.
