Bi Luo chun is nice because the leaves will immedietly sink to the bottom of the glass which makes for easy drinking.

Re: Simplicity deferred
Simplicity and minimalism doesn't just mean lack of stuff, its more about lack of things that have no use. I am hesistant to merely drop leaves in a bowl, which I think sacrafices flavor, for the sake of simplicity. Gaiwans and tea pots have uses and functions that mere bowl brewing cant match. To u...

Re: Any questions about pesticides?
I am curious about what specific pesticides are used (by brand or chemical). I have smelled beta-cyfluthrin (or its carrier agent) on some teas from Taiwan. It’s a nice sweet smell— like floral five spice— so I can see how it goes with teas but for someone like me who used to apply it, it’s an unmi...

Re: Tea and Personality
I think my tea drinking is greatly influenced by my general simplicity. In other parts of my life I don't crave fancy things. My phone is always the cheapest, I wear the same shoes till they break, and my apartment has almost zero decorations. I like the things I own to have a purpose. I do wear sui...

Re: Aged white tea
I found this article helpful: https://www.teaguardian.com/dialogues/topic/medicinal-properties-in-aged-white-tea/ If I understand correctly, "aged" white was a niche Hong Kong thing that became popular after it got sucked up into the pu'er boom of the 2000s. Back then it was common for white tea ma...

Re: Aged white tea
With regards to white tea age, there's a saying: 1 year, is good. 3 years, is a treasure. 7 years, it's medicine." Sorry to be that guy but just to add a bit of accuracy to the saying it is 一年是茶,三年是藥,七年為寶 or some similar rendition. Basically, just a bit swapped with yours - the saying is at 1 year ...

Re: Premium Silver Needle Vendors
Dont do Shang, i was disapointed by them. I am going to Fu Ding in a few weeks, if you send me some money I can pick you up some stuff. Yes I was disappointed by Shang too. If the silver needle is of similar quality to the one you sent Roy L & me a few years ago then yes I want to get some. Better ...
