To rinse, or not to rinse.

What do you rinse and not rinse?
When I first started brewing, I rinsed everything. I no longer rinse my whites. I have thought about stopping on my Gaoshans. My long Jing I dont if its of high quality (is this ridiculous?)
Id like to hear what you do

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Ive been resisting posting here because I dont want all my posts to be about HY Chen, but im having some Alishan I got from him, and for the price (his least expensive tea) its really incredible. Excellent, creamy high mountain goodness. Ended up making it last longer with some extreme steeping times.

Re: Silver teaware

Thanks for the input folks!
I think I might get one someday. It would be a great way to test if a tea is as good as I think it is.
Not cheap for the quality .999% ones! Any good vendors you know of?

Re: A Time for "Bad" Tea?

I have a box of tea that doesnt thrill me. I use this when im drinking like a cow or when im in a hurry. I also make it for my wife as we seem to have opposing tastes  I once read a story of a person being taught about tea by a tea master. The tea master would only allow him to drink the lowest...

Re: Lets talk about Da Yu Ling

Many Lishan are pretty close. It is the same mountain after all, Dayuling being the highest place. I take a good Lishan any day over the likely fake DYL with the heftier price tag. Agreed. Thats what I drink the most of. I received some Dayuling from Chen, but Ive been holding on to it. ++ I also a...

Jin Jun Mei?

Whats the score with this stuff? Its hard to find any real info online. All the vendors im finding are selling it at very ...

Re: Yixing

This is a F1 Hongni from the period 1987 / 1992.
Two batches have been made by F1 during that period, the first one made of porous, unmixed Hongni clay, as in this case. its about 125ML. I use this pot for my roasted oolongs.

Lets talk about Da Yu Ling

Of all the tea I drink, Dayuling is my absolute favorite. The day seems to be coming when its all gone. The really high altitude stuff is already pretty much gone, or at least I cant find it. Do you think the day will come when the Taiwanese government reclaims it all? Do you have a favorite vendor ...

Silver teaware

I recently came across silver gong fu pots and cups in an article. Never thought of them as Ive been a porcelain and Yixing user since my tea drinking began. The more I looked into them, the more I found people really like this stuff. What experiences have you had with silver pots and cups?

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Hey, that’s a beautiful pot Steanze. Details please, I might have one that is very similar. This morning, Charcoal Heavy Roasted 100 Year Garden oolong from Hau Ying Chen. So expertly roasted that charcoal roast is transformed into a broad range of flavors from spicy sweet to nutty chestnuts and ma...
