Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

With all this talk of Bao Zhong I decided to revisit a few that I have; A ‘68 Wenshan Bao Zhong that Tillerman kindly shared with me last year. Heated dry leaf has notes of ginseng. Liquor has aged books, minty camphor, medicinal dry earth notes through many steeps. Most pronounced on 3rd steep, but...

Re: The Cha Tong

Yes, the macro shots of tea drops in action are great, as are the descriptions. Looks like they are out of UK, with most shipping from Taiwan. The ‘about me’ could be better, it’s pretty vague. The site is convincing enough though to make me curious.

@Teachronicles wow great repair, beautiful Zhuni. Did the hairline crack on the body go all the way up to the rim? If so how come the staples are only at the bottom of body? :) Would love to see inside of pot’s staple work area, to get a better idea how leaks are prevented at staple drill holes.

Re: Online Tea Vendors dispatching from within the EU (European Union)

Mark-S to compare with your tasting notes, I just revisited my batch of 2017 Die Kunst Des Tees Tian Xiang Hong oolong from Nantou. The aromatics and liquor are really excellent in my opinion, rich, complex and layered. I’m not getting tobacco notes, rather a nicely transformed roasted oolong that ...

Re: Special Offer: Ippodo Tokusen Gyokuro 2020 (Ends 6/29)

I joined the forum too late last year to join the group buy. I am tempted. One thing about Ippodo is they are very consistent. I’ve had this special gyokuro over three different years, and each year the quality and character is consistent. If you like brothy seaside umami notes, this is one great g...

Since Ippodo recommends 10 grams/80ml per serving, to get 3x30g, 4x30g, 2x50gram... hmmm :)

Re: Hojo Tea

Welcome to TeaForum archimon . Hojo’s teas and teaware are overall are top quality. If you order a kyusu it makes sense to add some tea as well. I’ve sampled a few gyokuro that we’re gifted over the years, all were high quality. I haven’t tried any of his oolong or Darjeeling. Regarding Nosaka clay ...

do you have any experience with thetea.pl?
TeaTotaling, do you? They have a pretty interesting selection for a European vendor imo, so I'm tempted to give them a try.
I had an excellent yancha from TheTea, a ‘17 Zhengyan Lian Hua Feng Shui Xian. If I was in Europe I would order from them.
