Re: Yixing
So-called shrinking lines on two pots I believe are 1990s. I enjoy how they look skin-like in person. They are generally more visible in person than in photos. ./download/file.php?id=11465 ./download/file.php?id=11464 https://digitalfire.com/glossary/firing+shrinkage As kiln temperature increases b...

Re: Good Yixing Vendors in Wuxi?
Do you plan a trip down to Dingshan (yixing) too? If not since you are in China might be interesting to check out one of these stores, to train your eyes: https://www.zisha.com/en/contact.shtml Don't buy anything randomly there though not everything is as good they say they are, but they work with s...

Re: How to judge if it is a good Yixing tea pot by Gujingzhou,Matser tea pot artist
Gujingzhou said nothing about clay That's an interesting assertion. Wasn't he a renown authority on zisha, someone who put a great importance on the various steps of processing and mixing of the ore, how the clay was worked, how it was fired, etc...? Maybe he talked about these aspects somewhere el...

Re: Yixing advice
Gong_Fu_Chaddict These pots are worth consideration too: https://teaswelike.com/product-category/new-pots/ As with "pot chooses tea", i deeply disagree with this notion. Some teas and some methods of brewing work better in some pots, or give slightly different results in different pots, but that do...

Re: Yinchen Studio
Teabug, if Yann's workshop, after you submitted your review, modified the design of your pot and removed from their website the other pots that were like yours, that would seem to indicate the site is directly linked to the workshops that produce the pots. Well, to me that fact indicates a certain ...

Re: Yinchen Studio
Yinchen seem to be working with many side channels / distributors. I find it more likely that they sell generic and mass produced pots that other vendors sell as well. Or why do they not sell under their own label/name on aliexpress? Yinchen seem to be just another bullshitter in the chinese tea bu...

Re: Yinchen Studio
It also possible that the Ali store simply just sells pots from various place.
The price seem to match. Yinchen seem to be working with many side channels / distributors.

Tiaosha? Yes, it’s a common technique using prefired Duanni/Lüni, mixed into the clay, either before processing or during making the pot.

What do you guys think of this channel? Looks like the videos is informative with regard to zhuni, and hongni clays. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMJebQF0pDM He's using The Book as a source for the videos. Can't go wrong with that. Almost everything is correct in that. Although I kinda don't lik...

Re: How much heat can a tetsubin take?
Thank you Youzi for your input. Yes, I heard the same thing. The Tetsubin I ordered is from Kunzan, using Urushi plugs. So I wonder how much heat I can apply to this without the plugs taking damage on the long run. With those I'd go with as gently as possible, for your self to wait 10s of minutes t...
