Re: What Green Are You Drinking

Hello. China green: Lu Xue Ya Teaware: Yixing pot, Huaning pitcher, cup is typical traditional Slovak ceramics ;-) Great tea... distinctive flavour, not rough but mild and strong. Taste is grassy, smooth, sweet, but not sencha grassy type. I am sorry I can not express taste more precisely because of...

Hello.

2018 Bai Ya White Peony 200 gr cake.
Quite cheap tea but tasty one. A lot of white tips. Fruity flavour and taste plus a bit of citrus. Nice tea.

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Tengchong Gao Shan- really mildly roasted oolong.
As I am not a fan of "green" oolongs but this one is very nice. Not too much floral.

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

I’d try a different kind of clay for Yancha, or porcelain. This kind you use is often subduing the subtle nuances of Yancha. Hello Bok. Chamotte clay is really interesting. This link describes its unique features. https://www.imerys.com/minerals/chamotte Thanks to the thermal insulation of this cla...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Hello. I was curious about "aged" oolong. That's why I bought 2019 Fujian Hong Mu Dan. This oolong is Wu Yi type, medium roasted. After the fifth brew I could taste a bit of fruitness. I will keeping on testing this tea. Cup and pitcher are Huaning pottery and pot is made of chamotte clay from Czech...

Re: What Black Are You Drinking

Sounds just lovely! I completely agree that was not there is every bit as important as what is there for me, sometimes even more important, because I’m such a bitter phobe. I also tend to avoid bitterness, which is why I like Fujian and Taiwanese black teas more than teas from Assam or Yunnan. I wa...

Re: Hagi ware Absorption of Colour/Odor

Hello.

I am brewing e.g. Yunnan Silver Needle (white tea), Duck Shit (roasted oolong), Dian Hong , Yunnan Pine Needle (red tea) in one hagi yaki and I have not seen any problem so far. As you can see in the picture, inside is full of micro cracks.

Re: Your day in matcha

Saito Issei is not a member of the Hagi Ceramic Association but is well known. I don't know much about him. You have a quality teabowl in your hands, and very good taste. Thank you. My decision buy/not buy depends on the first impression when I see chawan. It has to catch my attention and what feel...

Re: Your day in matcha

person, That's a beautiful hagiyaki bowl. Did you purchase it through RIKYU? It's one of those chawan that fulfill almost the five senses. This one is from Etsy. I am not an expert I am not able to determine whether chawan is made by wellknown potter. I am sure this is well made piece and I am glad...
