Re: Pair of celadon cups

The EOT cups that sold out were 45 ml vs these are 62 ml. I don’t know why the original price was so high at $87 per cup, my guess is the size. 60-100 ml cups seem to have a higher price. After I deducted shipping cost, it about $87 per pair. Those antique cups will probably get more expensive over ...

Pair of celadon cups

I have been doing some teaware sorting lately. Anyone interested in adopting this pair of celadon cups? Looking for $100 usd included shipping in US. Here is the origin source, labels are still intact. https://moodyguy.biz/roc-porcelain-teacup-16.html https://moodyguy.biz/roc-porcelain-teacup-17.html

Re: Yixing

Here's an interesting one... no character seal on the bottom, only an oval '720' stamp (720ml?) Seems to have been well used in its past life. The clay looks to be of nice-looking thick QSN. ./download/file.php?id=14196 Interesting stamp on the bottom. Anyone know if this may be similar to the priv...

Re: Yunnan Craft

Picked up my first JianShui Zitao pot from YC. It did surprisingly well with aged Anxi TieGuanYin along with other darker teas like shu puerh and liu bao. ./download/file.php?id=14190 ./download/file.php?id=14189 ./download/file.php?id=14188 That's a beautiful pot! 😊 very lovely texture

Re: 2023 Tea sourcing trip

Hahaha I didn't think there was any need to dial down temp for this one- I was doing 4g in 85 ml gaiwan - but used relatively fast infusions For this one, it can probably handle boiling temperature. It's a habit of mine to use lower temp to sample new teas or get to know more about the characterist...

Re: Yixing

WhisperingFrog192 This is a side handle design Shi Qiu (roughly translates to Lion Ball) pot. The lion seems a bit beaten up or very dusty. Fairly sloppy workmanship on this one, but I'm used to it on vintage pots. It adds to the charm I think... No idea what the origin story for this one is!...

Re: 2023 Tea sourcing trip

Tea sample box has arrived. It will be a fun week trying different mao cha from aet . First up is the 2023 family 98 LBZ on an empty stomach. Surprisingly thick tea broth, good hui gan, slight tartness, and nice looking leaves. I used a lower than typical puerh temperature to brew this sample to pre...

DailyTX Not sure yet :D For now I've just threw some aged TW oolong in it to inaugurate it, but I generally prefer it in smaller pots. Maybe whites?
Younger white tea maybe a good option, assuming the wall is not thick.

Re: Yixing

500-600 ml? How do people here use these huge pots? Chuck 30g of leaf in it for a whole dinner party to enjoy, or a low leaf to water ratio Western style brew? Baiyun it depends on the locations. If you look at southern part of China, dim sum restaurants typically use a 400-600 ml porcelain pot per...
