@StoneLadle Well, to be fair, a 2021 raw sheng in a green cup would look the same
Chawangshop used to carry a 90s, Malaysia stored Duotelli. Love that stuff, I might fish it out of my storage!

Re: FS: Handmade hardwood tea trays
No, they're still available! I just haven't received a lot of interest. I could lower prices a little, but at some point it wouldn't be worth it for me anymore.

Re: FS: Handmade hardwood tea trays
OK Admin, I think we can archive this!
I'm open to custom orders though, should anybody be interested in wooden teaware. Future pieces will be posted on Etsy, probably.
Thanks for the kind comments!

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
Interesting one today. This is the spring 2021 raw Liubao W2T has recently offered. The owner acknowledges it may be more of a green tea than a proper LB, and I agree. It's nutty, vegetal, and it reminds me more of Yunnan green tea than of the few young raw LB I've had before. It's pretty good thoug...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
I've heard a lot about "oolong processed" shengs over the year, but never encountered one myself. Until now, maybe? This is a tea I picked up at Palais des thés, Paris, last year, while I was desperate for quality caffeine. It is from Myanmar and also quite young (but no vintage specified and the se...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Hung Chong Tai scene report... Nice picks! I bought a few cakes from HCT while I was in Hong Kong, and in my experience the owner leans towards dry storage. Some cakes were branded as "traditional", but I believe they were not from his own storage. Everything I have from him is pretty clean, nothin...

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
wave_code You're getting me curious about nosaka pots... I might pass an order at Hojo's soon (even though I shouldn't hahaha). I don't know what to make of nixings reputation anymore. For years I thought they were "emphasizing body over aromas" clays, but on the other hand a modern nixing seller s...

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
wave_code You're right, there is a whole lot of variation in liu baos, which makes generalizations even trickier ! Mainly, maybe, because the different styles of liu baos seem to appear on some sort of continuum (more or less fermented) while puers are already sorted into more clear-cut categories....

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
At YS, the Mojun Yi Hao and the YTS "Sentinel Mountain" brick (I assume that’s the one you tried) are actually exactly the same price per gram (USD 0.10). Which of course is really cheap in absolute terms, but probably in the “upper middle segment” of fucha. You're right... I should not g...

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
I was having the 2002 Yesheng Liu Bao from Chawang earlier! Still an enjoyable tea, even though it is a bit simple ; nice aged taste, dry wood, earth and spices (cloves, ginger etc.). I also did a little experiments with different teapots : a modern DCQ and a Nixing, both roughly the same volume. I ...

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
I also have to agree ; the couple Mojun I tasted were a little boring... But then we should point out they are way cheaper than most other brands out there. Speaking of better brands, I too enjoyed the GJS, but the best I had so far must be the Yun Tai Shan Fu brick. A little pricy for a Fu, but wor...

Re: Recommendation: Nixing teapot?
My two-cents... I agree with Balthazar and McScooter on their EoT entry level yixing recommandation. Price to quality ratio seems great, and pretty much invalidate the argument for purchasing Nixing as "tuition safe" pots. That said, having played with Mud&Leaves nixings for over two years now, I do...
