Re: Yixing
Here is a video about carving on zisha Thanks! Wow, the kid broke a pot so casually just like that  I gotta say I like my hex pot but got a little disappointed by the handwriting (carving). I suppose you can't expect all potters to also excel at calligraphy :😂: By the way, just notice you're b...

Re: Yixing
My free pot!
Parents got this as a gift, but it’s too small for them (200ml).
The carving is not very smooth like it was done on a hard surface. But shouldn’t the clay be malleable before firing? Could someone please educate me what that might imply about the clay?

Re: Yixing
Global tea hut and chanting pines sell them. This maker became popular I think partly due to the amazing marketing skills of GTH  . Craftsmanship and clay quality are great--I'm happy with most of my pots. Some I like less because it doesn't pour as well as I like, but I think it's a subjectiv...

Re: Yixing
Hmm. Should I think it odd nobody wants to offer an opinion? Yes, I am the user—but I trust others are much more experienced. Based on the images, the craftsmanship looks excellent. However, the ergonomics of the pot is part of the craftsmanship, and that's difficult to tell without seeing the pot ...

Re: Yixing
Do you enjoy using it? Does it pour well? Enough room for tea to expand, etc.? The user will always be the best judge, no?

Re: Cleaning: Awakening & Resetting Unglazed Ceramics / Yixing
Has anyone tried cooking a pot in lemon juice/ critic acid / in an acidic substance, or soak it in an acidic water for a long time? Actually doing that at this moment... not cooking though, just put hot water, pot and citric acid together and let it sit. Only way to get rid of some tenacious lime s...

Re: [FS] Lin’s Ceramics Purion teapot 160ml
That is a good price! I have touched and pondered these a few times in LIn's shops in Taipei, the clay is quite intriguing. In between wood-fired and the clean-ness of Yixing. Thanks, Bok! I'm posting at a lower price than what I paid for. It's a beautiful pot that I just haven't been using (mostly...

Re: Yixing
Beautiful. Clay looks similar to the diamond grade that CP sells. What's the capacity of the pot?

pantry Hmmm.. do you mean this pear? Mine has very good flow. Yes, this one. It flows all right just slow. Perhaps I'll try again. I also chipped the tip of the spout without knowing :'( The small pan hu looks really cute! I love the look. What did you use it for? I got the small da bin hu, but it'...

Re: Chanting Pines
Alas, the one I got is very slow pouring with somewhat small opening--not ideal for Yancha. Shapes are important  Hmmm.. What’s the shape and size of the pot? With some Yancha, long steeping can make an interesting brew though. Some drinkers in Wuyi stuff the pot and steep for a few minutes! :...
