Tea Travel Kit (homemade)
I’m wondering what is the best way to transport some basic teaware: - 100ml Gaiwan - 120ml Cup - 25g bags of sample tea (Pu and Yancha) I have bubble wrap, and was going to cut to fit. It’s the case I’m most interested in solving, and I’m fine if it’s a tight fit (teaware only). I was thinking of a ...

Re: Mei leaf
Like you said, order samples of their teas and do your own comparisons. If you’re objective and know what you like, it’s relatively easy to determine value.

Re: How do you choose what tea to drink?
Some funny and insightful posts here! Pretty much my only daily routine with tea: Sencha to start the day, in the kitchen when I'm doing some light stretching; unless I'm going for a bike ride, in which case I'll have Matcha. I always have a high mountain oolong opened, and may have some 2-3 times a...

Re: Chaozhou/Shantou
Reminds me of something I just recently learned from a new teapot collector friend: the style of pot attached is apparently something that was given to couples in Chaozhou for their wedding. A calligraphy inscription around the body, and the top of the lid adorned with animals or vegetables. So far...

Re: Chaozhou/Shantou
My new Chaozhou pot from YS. 100ml. Nice. Are you planning to try it with some Dancong as well? So far I think that is where these pots shine the most! I think this might be part of the reason why CZ pots are not more popular: The biggest difference they make is with Dancong, for most other teas, o...

My new Chaozhou pot from YS. 100ml. Brewing some Raw Pu’erh from Pu’erh Brooklyn. Fast pour, tight lid, lovely to handle. I’m going to do a side by side with a Gaiwan in the future. The colour is much brighter than the photo reveals.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hi all Being in the uk I have been a tea drinker my whole life! But past 3-5 yrs or so I have gotten into loose leaf tea - gong fu style. My favourite teas are usually oolong. Particularly Dancongs and Taiwan oolongs. Though I have tried all sorts. Look forward to learning more. Welcome! I’m always...

Wow, 5th stew being enjoyable is impressive. I almost always stop at 3 because I rarely enjoy the 4th, let alone the 5th.

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
I take joy in the fact that I know very little, in particular with some teas or regions. It means I have so much to explore and taste, which keeps my interest in tea “high mountain” high! Learning is half the fun for us that obsess too much about tea :) Tea learning comes in waves for me. Right now...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
Kabuse sencha from Obubu, my tea farm subscription. This is good stuff, rich, vegetal, sweet, but without overwhelming umami or ocean taste that turns me off some gyokuros and fukamushi sencha. Morning tea happiness. Of all the teas I drink, a “rich” sencha is my favourite. I’m not good at describi...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Could not be further from the truth!!! ... Alright that is pretty exciting to hear! My lack of knowledge is just probably that I have not investigated taiwanese teas enough, and that high mountain has a lot of hype surrounding it. I take joy in the fact that I know very little, in particular with s...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking
Spent the day in wine country, which as a reformed wino wine drinker, was a little underwhelming. Afterwards, shared a bowl of koicha with my favorite person, which more than made up for it. Good tea, good company. Feeling very quiet and relaxed now. The more I drink tea the less I want beer or wine!

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Hi Pu drinkers! First time I’m posting in this sub-forum, as I’m new to Puerh. As opposed to starting a new topic I thought I would add to here a (hopefully) quick question - can you recommend a website with all the information about Puerh that one would ever need, if one (or several) exist. I confe...
