That chawan was from an early TC Special Offer, one that didn't sell out immediately. So I got lucky. It also has twin little siblings.....
One of my main regrets finding teachat in the first place -- :D

Love the trio, i have a ton of Seigan's work myself so i can imagine the joy.

Fuut, Chip and we're just discussing the possibility of resurrecting the SOP for our members here ...
I'm sold :!:

Lovely chawan Debunix, seems one of his handmade forms. I have 2 pieces with this type of sansei glaze but none as beautiful as yours.

Re: Show Off Your Pots

Wow, I've always been envious of Toru, having so many beautiful pieces in this store (like his many Tokoname pots). Seeing the work below by Konishi Yohei, i feel myself wanting one of his works even more. Beautiful pot! I think should the point ever arrive that i can afford one i would have mayor t...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Victoria, where are your answers? :p How long have you been drinking tea? Its been about 6 or 7 years since i truly woke up to the beauty of Japanese ceramics. Drinking green tea since young, but since the interest in teaware its been more apparent. What kind of tea do you drink? Mainly green tea an...

Re: Gisui Natsume kyusu(140ml)

I maybe mistaken (but since the original photo's have poofed, imagebooth or photobooth or whatever, those hosts never last), but was this one in the teachat SOP? There was a similar kyusu on which i has placed a bid, but was happily surprised with a even higher placed pot. Just curious, nice piece a...

Raku

I would love to see everyone's teaware. Personally i love all of it, but i really love seeing more topics about all sorts of styles. My latest acquisition here is a utsushi, replica of Chōjirō's Toyobo. From memory the original is described as follows: "Vertical but not symmetrical walls. The should...

Re: Hagi

I thought it would be fitting to start with a piece that was commissioned thanks to Chip's work in coordination with Magokorodo: Eiichi Shibuya's rock #1, from the Hagi SSO (super special offer) #16. I inherited this piece from Adam Yusko, so I think it is fitting to give this topic a fresh start w...

Re: Share your Kyō-yaki

I'm quite a fan of kyoyaki, but then again i'm in love with almost any kind of ceramic. Surprisingly the only thing that kind of turns me off is mashiko yaki (edit: i'm going to have to take this back as i've been enchanted by 2 chawan by Takeichi Kawai). Here are a few of my pieces, by the same art...

Re: Tetsubin

Thanks Debunix, I realize now I've been terribly inactive. The new Firefox quantum update really did a number on me, some of my favorite addons were not supported and thus removed, including my speed dials, i lost nearly 100 links i used to visit daily and still haven't heard from the developer soo....

Sen no Rikyu's demise

This happens to be the perfect article, crisscrossing the 2 fields that are just so incredible to me. Chanoyu and Nihonto. I think anyone would find this interesting as its such a major event in Japanese (TAD), history. kobuyazen.jpg https://markussesko.com/2017/09/28/the-blade-with-which-sen-no-rik...

Re: Los Angeles International Tea Club

Although regrettably I'm not located anywhere near you nice folks. I admire and support clubs like this for spreading the interest and the hobby. I wish more people were interested in the culture and influence it had. All besides the actual drinking of tea, but it must be a great evening every once ...

Glass ware - Show off

Show it all.

I only recently acquired (in the last year), my first real glass piece and now i like it more and more every time i pass it in the house.

It came with a paper box, titled unsurprisingly Nami; and was made by Hisatoshi Iwata.
