Re: What's in Lipton Teabags??

Yeah, I think I have run across the loose Lipton in tins as well.

Personally, my go-to base for iced teas is a nice Kenilworth Estate Ceylon. It's brisk with slight citrus notes and really good with a slice of lemon. Very cost effective too!

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

Tasting a rainforest sounds pretty nice, thanks for sharing. What temperature are you using? I’ve never steeped any sencha for as little as 15 seconds. Actually, 15 seconds is one of my preferred parameters for steeping. I usually start at: Leaf: 0.9 grams per 30ml Steep 1 – 1:15 @ 160° Steep 2 – 0...

shenzhen zhifu?

Hiya tea peeps! A coworker of mine brought me a vacuum sealed brick of tea as a gift. The label is all in Chinese, however I did manage to find the website on the bag. It seems that the company is called Shenzhen Zhifu. They seem to be a rather large company. I was also able to recognize the 4 large...

@Justin Welcome to the boards! I am beginning to explore puerh myself. This is a great place to interact and learn.

Re: What tastes good? Us and Them:

I believe the one I have is actually a Piao I rather than the Kamjove. Essentially the same thing though. Still use it occasionally. When camping I tend to bring along my old ingenuiTEA. Something that can handle getting knocked around a bit.

Re: Tea pets

I agree that a lot of them, such as the classic pee pee boy, look a tad cheesy. I agree with this; however, I brought my 9 year old to a brick and mortar tea shop where the owner will sit every customer down to give some gongfu tastings. I am pretty sure she started this practice because she (1) ge...

Re: Recommendations for a newb

I would start with big and classic factory puerh like Menghai tea factory or Xiaguan tea factory. 7542 is the most famous puerh sheng recipe from menghai, but you should also have some of their shu puerh recipe (7572?). But you should purchase puerh at least 6-7 years old. For Xiaguan jia ji sheng ...

Re: Recommendations for a newb

Mike, Do you have a price range or would you rather sample some stuff first? I will echo Bok. Cheap puerh is usually bad puerh. Price isn't too huge of a concern provided that it's nothing ridiculous. That being said, I would ideally like to find a few good representative samples of what puerh shou...

Re: Has anyone else found their diet influences what tea they want to drink?

I've always been more influenced by the seasons than what I am eating. I've started eating more meat instead of a more vegetable/plant based diet, and I've lost the desire for young sheng puer and now crave Japanese greens. Interesting. Do you think that is because of the umami found in Japanese gre...

Re: What tastes good? Us and Them:

The biggest obstical for me is brewing...most people out here are solidly in the tea bag brigade ;) How do you suggest brewing to your friends...do you go infuser route or encourage them to try gong fu cha style brewing? I can barely get anyone to try an infuser or tea ball..never mind tradtional m...

Recommendations for a newb

Hey there guys and gals of the deep, dark and dank store rooms! After years of timidly partaking of green, black, white and oolong I think that I am ready to move into the realm of pu erh. I believe that I have avoided it for this long because for some reason it just seems more intimidating than eve...

Re: Oolong Vendor Topic

Just want to give a big shout out to Tillerman . I ordered some of his 2016 Oriental Beauty on 5/16 and it was waiting in my mailbox for me this afternoon. Super speedy shipping which just so happened to be free shipping since I'm in North America! The product was well packaged and while I have not ...

Re: Anyone ever bought Chinese greens from Tea Trekker or Seven Cups?

While I have not tried their greens I have had some of their Nepali black teas and I found the quality to be good.
