Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Lots of fake Puerh in Taiwan... furthermore the quantity is little compared to China itself so you’re also up against local consumers who are after the good stuff.

Re: Help identifying Japanese Teapot

Quick update, it was a well cared for pot. Look, I just brewed hot water in it to clean it out, and look at the bright green color of the water coming out! 😍 You just drank that??? That is very adventurous to drink some unknown gunk from a previous owner... If the pot is that dirty I’d recommend to...

Re: Yancha lovers?

I haven't been drinking much Yancha of late, but I had a question and without wanting to hijack your thread...am posting here as it's somewhat related. I read posts about how 'good/great' Yancha is very expensive and not a daily drinker for most of us. I understand. Though I was wondering what type...

Re: Yancha lovers?

With Yancha you never ever get your money’s worth. You will always get a much, much better tea if you spend the same amount on other teas than yancha. A cheap Yancha is so much worse than a similar priced other tea. It’s worth pursuing if - one, money doesn’t matter. Or - two, you just like that spe...

Re: Yancha lovers?

In Taiwan I get usually treated and teased each time with better tea... so I get lost deeper and deeper in the abyss of expensive but delicious teas. It’s a vicious cycle If a tea really costs ~10$ per gram I'd be willing to only drink it with friends, even if I could afford it. The only way to rea...

Re: Yancha lovers?

Interesting question. I don’t think Yancha of acceptable quality qualifies as a daily drinker. It’s a luxury. The affordable stuff is atrocious and still too expensive. Yesterday at a friends we had a Laocongshuixian that retails at 50000RMB for a jin in China... don’t think anyone would pay for thi...

Re: Yixing Clay Processing: Traditional vs Modern

Nice write up. It would have been useful thought to have a final paragraph to point out the main differences again. They are mentioned in the text, but having them alogether summarised would be ideal I think.

Thanks for the effort!

Re: Ode to the Kyusu

Does anyone know how/why he produces so many variable teapots? They are all expertly finished and yet they each seem as though they were made through someone else’s hands He is still quite young for one, which explains that he still seems to explore a huge variety of styles. And what better than to...

Re: Yixing vs Chaozhou teapot test YouTube video

But I do have a new found respect for them for the time and effort they have put into making so many video's. I wish them the best but also wish alot of people switch over to my teastore and youtube channel  I'd aim for quality over quantity. ML has a ton of vids, but how much worth is it of m...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Having some Shui LianDong Da HongPao... perfect brew after a heavy dinner. Brewed in a ROC ChaoZhou pot. Brings out every little nuances in the tea and tea broth and body is deep and strong. After taste is long lasting.... every cup lingers in the mouth and aroma stays in the nose..... blissful eve...

Re: Yixing vs Chaozhou teapot test YouTube video

I am amazed at the range of replies I get from my yixing videos especially. From 'amazing video, thank you' to 'you didn't do a proper scientific test with double blind etc. Now you must die'. That is crazy! I hope you do not take our comments the wrong way... just please do not become an...

Re: Yixing vs Chaozhou teapot test YouTube video

And Bok, do you have chaozhou pots and do you get the same results? And what is the difference to you when antique/modern/vintage? I own a couple, from antique, vintage to modern. Worth mentioning that pure CZ clay is rare nowadays. Yours does not look like it's pure. I have a few friends who own s...
