Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?

Thank you! I guess it's not the most sensible thing to do, then.
It's a concern I have during long winter sessions. I'm afraid the water might cool down too much for pu'erhs or hong cha, but at the same time I don't want to reboil the same water for fear of spoiling the taste.

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?

Reminiscence: many aeons ago I read on a forgotten page that boiling water more than once is bad for the tea. Any thoughts on this?

I think someone on Teachat had a dragon. And by dragon I mean "Chinese mythological animal that looks like a dragon whose name I can't remember".

This feels like the Double Slit Experiment: it's a particle, but it behaves like a wave! It's a shu, but it behaves like a sheng!

No idea what might have happened. Perhaps they accidentally sent you some sheng that looked similar to the one you ordered?

Re: Tea pets

I don't have any tea pets yet, mainly because I don't have a tray, so I wouldn't be able to give them tea without making a mess on the table. I agree that a lot of them, such as the classic pee pee boy, look a tad cheesy. I like the water buffalo and some turtles, and I saw a small Lu Yu statue once...

Speaking of Taiwanese wulongs, the Alishan Tie Guan Yin I bought from thetea.pl has already become one of my favourites.
Far more oxidised than most Tie Guan Yin I've tasted, sugary, and overwhelming fruity notes!

Re: 12 Days of Kyusu

I'm envisioning a tv programme called 12 Days of Kyusu, with Chip preparing the tea and Jo explaining every process in detail. Bloopers include Chip high on caffeine making tea-related puns.

Jokes aside, your pots are beautiful, and after reading your posts I'm now craving for sencha again.

Re: How do you choose what tea to drink?

As for me, sometimes I'm influenced by the season: sheng/green wulongs during spring, greens (especially Japanese greens) during summer, dark wulongs/shu during autumn/winter. Is that because of something you read about health, or just your gut feeling during each season? For me I have definitely b...

Re: beginner boiling pot- clay or tetsubin? glass?

I'm interested in getting a better set up over time for boiling both tea and water. I use a klarstein electric at the moment which is fully adjustable in temp which is great- but it doesn't insulate so well which means for making teas that need consistent high temps I have to constantly be running ...
