Because I am a sad old man I use a fountain pen and a paper block rather than a very nice and more interesting electronic tablet. If a tea requires further ageing I do write notes during subsequent tastings. The paper I use is ...

Re: What are you doing when drinking tea
2006(?) '65' sheng from Yiwu region
This tea cake has been HK dry stored. It is smooth, viscous and sweet. What else can someone want from a delicious raw pu'er tea?

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Tried Dayi's fanciest sheng of the year. Lovely sweet and fruity aromas coupled with powerful huigan after the bitterness. Not excessively bitter, either, but no slouch! The huigan and flavor persisted for over 20 minutes. Good stuff but over $300 and not worth it for that price IMO. Surprising amo...

Re: China / Taiwan Trip - Favorite vendors?
My wife and I love the Wuyi rock and Dancong teas from Cindy ( https://www.wuyiorigin.com/ ). She also has Lapsang Souchong tea. :D Just one problem: in that case you would not need to buy from the above thread opener, you can just buy directly isn’t it? Without an increase in price due to resale. ...

Spring 2016 Wuliang sheng from die Kuns des Tees in Frankfurt Germany. A very smooth and aromatic sheng. It is a shame I have just run out of it.

Re: What are you doing when drinking tea
When I sip a pu'er tea for the first time I always add my impressions to a tea diary which will contain details of the first three or four steeps. Any inner or outer tickets are also added to this tea diary.

Absolutely.Elise wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2017 1:30 pmOne vendor that I would recommend is Farmerleaf (former Bannacha.com). Based in Jingmai, they run a family business producing Jingmai puerh with natural farming processes. They can be followed on YouTube with informative videos in English about their processes.

Re: Aging puerh: what is your setup?
My usual setup is using cigar humidors with 72% relative humidity packs. It has served me well so far and I have had no mould instances as these humidors are opened at least twice weekly. During winter with lower temperature in the house (my wife and I do not like overheated environments) I change t...
