Re: Ode to the Kyusu

^^Very nice!
I believe he uses Shigaraki clay for his aou(blue teapots). The teapots that Victoria and I posted are actually just shudei pots that have been wood fired.
If you look closely you can still see some red's peaking out around the lid and handle of the pot I posted above.

Re: Ode to the Kyusu

...And you got rid of something I'm assuming is pretty rare for what reason? :D Do you have any pictures still of it that you could post? I'd be interested in seeing a glaze covered shuiping(or more likely zhunde?) Because it wasn't placed in a sagger, wouldn't a pot like that essentially have a sim...

Re: Ode to the Kyusu

Reading that makes me really want to understand more about wood firing. I own a few other woods pots aside from the Sou I uploaded, but that's the only one that seems to have that metallic shine to it. I suppose there's a way to coax that out from the kiln? I have a pot that I know that has been fir...

Re: Ode to the Kyusu

^^Very nice Victoria. Really wanted one of those mayake+aou combo pots when he first made them. Want to trade? :D I think I prefer to those even to his complelty blue pots :D Lol, you’ll need to entice me with photos of your kyusu posted here 🌞🍃 I'm not sure If my pot can match yours on that front,...

Re: Yamada family seal chops and signatures

Victoria this helps a lot. Thank you. Weird as this is the second item I received in the past week that cracked during the transport. The other being some yixing cups I received with a teapot from Yinchen. ^Sorry to hear that Lukav :( hope she's able to make it right somehow. Do you mind telling me...

Re: FS: Fugetsu Shiboridashi+ NEW Yuzamashi

Pssh, Anyone there? :D For anyone still watching this, I have a brand-new unused Yuzamashi that I'll include with the Shib. Holds around 160-170ml. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5FCiW_kR2Occ3o5QmVROC1HMVdJUVk4YWpXZ1I2dEc2T2c4/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5FCiW_kR2OceFhReTcw...

Re: Inaugural Group Tasting: Sinensis Yokkaichi & Ippodo Tokusen Gyokuro

Don't mind me for barging in, but... the reason the two are different is because they are two different teas!
The one on the right you bought a few years ago is a sencha, and the one on the left is the Tokusen gyokuro :D .
The characters on the jars basically say, "select gyokuro" "select sencha"
