Usually fine unless it’s Kunming stored. I don’t use super high leaf to water ratios that much any more so that might explain why it rarely bothers me.

Re: Anyone try the 2005-03 XG tuo from Cloud?
No doubt that this one is still quite young.
Believe it or not many westerners actually consume these XG tuo even younger than this one. I usually find these pretty nasty until at least 10yrs.

Anyone try the 2005-03 XG tuo from Cloud?
Anyone try the 2005-03 batch of XG jiaji tuo from Cloud(HK)? Any thought on how it compares to other batches from 2004-2006?

Chadrinkincat Nice pot!! Thank you Teas We Like for such a good buy!!! Cheers! Thanks for the approval OCTO!! Nice picture Chadrinkincat, looking good. Wood fired, stone ground zini should be a bit muting initially but mid-aged sheng should be a very good fit. This pot is not low-fired so it should...

OCTO StoneLadle Are these bricks the same? Would you choose one over the other? https://teaswelike.com/product/90s-kunming-7581-brick/ https://globalteahut.org/collections/shou-puerh/products/happy-trails vuanguyen Comparing the two, personal preference, I'm more inclined to lean towards TWL's stoc...

Re: Yixing
If available, I like to buy vintage and older teapots. So I wanted to make sure I "exhausted" my reasonable options for vintage duanni before going with a modern pot. As great as it would be to stumble across a Qing/ROC duanni teapot, I don't think it'd fit my budget. As of now, I'm still uncomfort...

Re: Aging oolong? How to do it?
For me below average teas are often drinkable but likely not something I’d want to consume regularly or consider a daily drinker. Seadyke brand is a good example of sub par tea imho.StoneLadle wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 9:22 pmChadrinkincat how do you define par and sub par oolongs?
Contamination from storage is a separate issue.

Re: Aging oolong? How to do it?
A lot of what is sold as aged Oolong in Taiwan is exactly as mbanu said, not intentional, forgotten and often subpar, thus unsold tea. I’d rather consume a subpar 20-30yr old oolong than a subpar newly made one. Not sure about that... we frequently sample some mystery aged teas and they can be quit...

Re: Yixing
Has anyone noticed that different yixing teapots can change the texture of the tea as it goes down your throat? I was giving one of my teapots that gets ignored some love and I noticed that the tea I had before which had a silk smooth texture was rough and almost scratchy. This teapot is a bronze g...
