Re: How To Brew Pu

Unfortunately I learned about over steeping sheng this morning. First time with sheng. I knew it was a green tea, but didn't really know follow instructions on how to steep it. I watched videos of quickly steeping, like seconds. I steeped too long. Even the fifth infusion of 10 seconds was a bit lon...

My first sheng experience

I tried my first sheng within the last hour and learned so much. The sheng was in the shape of a dragon ball and took two infusions to open. I steep too long! On my fifth steep I was happy with myself for only steeping 10 seconds. Too long. I watched the videos. I saw quick pours. I learned nothing....

Re: How To Brew Pu

I was actually thinking about a french press, as I read recently that a french press can be used for steeping tea, but I haven't ever used one. I could see how a loose leaf might brew well in a press, but not sure about a tuo as the leaves aren't loose. The kamjove looks interesting and I could see ...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Yes, some common types of hei cha are liu bao and liun. There's also fu cha (fu zhuan, golden flower tea) and kang zhuan (Tibetan brick tea.) You could read more about it and see what's available on yunnan sourcing and chawangshop websites. They have good info and selection. There's also a "What he...

Re: How To Brew Pu

I'm wondering if a pot with a built in removable infuser might work? I could make a large quantity but be able to control the steeping time by removing the filter. A buddy at work brought in his betty which he has been using for lose leaf. I just don't know if the clump of tea would have enough room...

Re: Site Feedback & Discussion

Do you have a post pinned somewhere with oh wait. lets start over. Thank you for providing this site! Only been around for a couple months but I'm getting a lot of info and contacts on tea. Do you have a post pinned somewhere that lists the features that have been suggested, being implemented, won't...

How To Brew Pu

I bought a gaiwan which might be 120 ml (need to actually check) which is good for gong fu cha brewing and learning about the tea for one person. It's the only way I've been brewing pu since I've started seriously learning about the tea a couple months ago. Issue is, I'm a tea drinker and I want to ...

2002 Aged Wild Liu Bao Tea "803" from Guangxi from Yunnan Sourcing. First time having this tea. Been drinking the same 7g all day. The color of the liquor has paled significantly, but still has sufficient taste for someone who likes strong tea. Tomorrow will be my first sheng pu at some point. Edit:...

Re: Finally Figured Out which Pot I want

.. The pot that I saw that says pick me, is mostly cylindrical, with a lid. .. How about this one? https://www.mudandleaves.com/store/p569/Dicaoqing_底槽青_Sangbian_Yixing_Teapot%2C_150ml.html Yeah I saw the Sangbian shaped pots a couple months ago when I started looking. I did like the simplicity of ...

Re: Finally Figured Out which Pot I want

The shape of the tea pot does influence many aspects of tea, for example, heat retention, getting tea leaves in, expansion of tea leaves during brewing, getting leaves out when cleaning , pouring experience, dripping/tightness of lid. I guess a simple way to look at this is tell us what tea you pla...
