Re: Electric Kettles
Sweeeet. I've been looking for a new electric kettle. My last one started to leak. It was mostly plastic, but lasted a good long time. Sounded like a jet taking off though. Been looking at kettles on Amazon not wanting to make a plunge because all of them have bad reviews. However, I saw this post a...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Thanks for the update, especially your impression of the Lucky Cloud. I have never tried a Jing Mai yet, in part because it seems to be one of those understated teas that might leave me underwhelemed. I could be completely wrong..maybe there is Jing Mai out there with a Bulang like punch ;) Unfortu...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Good to hear! Like I said in a previous post, I enjoyed it enough to order a second cake. Although I do want to order another cake aged 15 years or so, but from the previous samples I've had not a lot was to my liking. So I either have to buy a cake and see how she goes, or try more samples (likely...

Re: Grandpa Amu making a Tea Table
Incredible skills. At first I thought I was thinking gungfo table... then as the artisan progressed I was thinking more like a tea service table... then well the table is somewhat gungfo, but not the type that you could pour and hold waste liquid, I love these types of videos and appreciate the hand...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Got plenty of shou around here. I can send you some if you want in a week or so. We can message the details if you want. I would really appreciate some samples. I've been buying some from CLT and YS but I'll be honest I'm jealous of the pics I've seen of your teas and figure you have stuff that isn...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Wow... was I ever wrong. I did buy the aged sampler which contained the 2005 Changtai "Yun Pu Zhi Dian / Top of the Clouds" sheng. However, what I think I have already sampled was the 2013 Jingmai "Lucky Cloud" as I found the empty sample package here at work. I still have to check at home to make ...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Thommes, Where are you located at and are you trying to get into shou and sheng both or one of them? I'm in central Ohio. I pretty much have drank what Stash Tea called Puerh for 20 years. Just started getting into real puer a few months ago. I THINK I'm going to be a shou guy, but I'm doing sample...

Re: Looking for suggestions
The most important is to figure out what size you want. Personally, for sheng i'd get something around 80-120ml (although i use 60ml fairly often), for shu 120-160ml (a bigger size holds heat better and extract the tea better). You can go bigger, but in that category you can easily get a western po...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
I am inspired to try the Changtai from Crimson Lotus, curious So... I tried this tea in the aged Puerh sampler. I've tried it twice, and I hope that there's some left for a third tasting. My initial reaction was little taste. I think I read some reviews about it and like everyone was oooh la la wit...

Looking for suggestions
So I want to buy my first clay teapot or two. One will be for sheng and the other for shou puerh. I currently have a porcelain gaiwan, but am ready to try a clay pot. Been reading articles about the different regions and the types of clays, handmade, factory made, old, modern. It will take a long ti...

Re: Finally Figured Out which Pot I want
I would just like teaware that I can start using. ...simple porcelain gaiwan Anyway, good luck with search! Thanks! I have a porcelain gaiwan now. It's pretty small, but some of the teapots say they are smaller. I don't know how someone would brew enough tea to drink in it. I know multiple infusion...

Re: Finally Figured Out which Pot I want
China is producing teapots in the millions, wouldn’t get my hopes up too high to find an exact match. On the other hand that means there are probably other perfect pots out there for you ;) If it was one of the popular shapes right now, well I'd get my hopes up. But seeing the difficulty in finding...

Re: Finally Figured Out which Pot I want
Here’s one from my collection, to share, it’s one kind of Julunzhu shape that was common in the late Qing, early Republican era. Real luck that the lid on this one has a decent fit, old pots rarely do, but with this design an ill-fitting lid would be more annoying than usual... This shape is still ...
