Having a strangely processed Oolong this afternoon... not quite green, not quite oxidised, dry heated leaves leave a smell of milk chocolate, mhh. It’s odd, but strangely delicious :)

Re: Puerh Vendor Topic

Anyone have any recommendations for a late 90's - 2003 puer cake that's less than ~$600 USD? I'm halfway through 2001 Menghai Tea Factory 7432 from Teas We Like (quite happy with the tea for the price) and should start researching my next conquest before I run out. The only important criteria is tha...

Re: What Green Are You Drinking

That pot is looking shiny and beautiful, I'm glad those teas went to a good home. :D
Green candy... yes, they were kind of sweet from what I remember.

Re: What White Are You Drinking

I’m almost through my bag of Mu Dan Wang King of Bai Mu Dan 2015 from Wuyi Origins. This is the best white tea I’ve had in years, I’d have a hard time telling this apart in a blind tasting vs a silver needle I think (this is all bud pickings).

Very sweet and satisfying

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

I’m nearing the bottom of my Organic Baozhong packet from Tea Masters. I’ve found that using more leaf than normal brings out the floral flavor I like in this tea. Using boiling water like I do for most of his teas. I actually might buy it again, especially if semi-wild Baozhong doesn’t come back. :)

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Neither the 2020 Spring Qilan Baozhong nor the 2020 Spring Organic Baozhong are suitable replacements for the Semi-Wild Baozhong that’s no longer stocked this year at Tea Masters.

Re: An Ode to Czech Potters

It does seem to share some characteristics with duanni. I still haven’t seasoned it much so I hope it will take away less flavor as time goes on. In its current state I can see it being good for younger sheng if you like that type of tea (I don’t).

Re: An Ode to Czech Potters

Lovely. Who is the potter? I bought it directly from Jiří Duchek. He was very responsive and easy to work with, was eager to sell one of his pieces, and had a few different pots in stock. The only problem we ran into was Coronavirus shipping, it took ~2 months to receive the pot, so it was quite a ...

Re: An Ode to Czech Potters

Thanks to this thread, I have a new teapot. :D I like the construction of it a lot, and it's a nice size. Since my parents are from the Czech Republic, it's nice to have a piece of teaware that I feel a connection to. I haven't felt that with any of my yixing/japanese clay pots. https://www.instagra...

I've been drinking DYL 98k almost daily. Chugging? This one and Ethan's DYL are my top favorite teas. This time of year is always such a treat. Sunshine, my favorite tea, nice and hot weather, my plants are happy and growing like crazy, lots of fruit is in season. :D The only sad news of this summer...

Breaking into a Puer Cake

My friend asked me to break off a piece of puer from one of his cakes as he was setting up the teaware for our session. When I started to pry into the cake from the outside in, he got upset with me (he takes his puer very seriously). He told me he only breaks apart puer from the inside out, meaning ...

I'm drinking Tea Masters Spring 2020 Da Yu Ling 98k. Scent: light mango, cherimoya, sweet petrichor Taste: Sweet, bright on the palette Something interesting about this tea is that it seems to be pretty low in caffeine. It's never been a high energy tea even in past years but this year's harvest see...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I’m drinking 2001 Menghai Tea Factory 7432 from Teas We Like. It’s the first puer I’ve caked in over 4 years (there wasn’t a sample option). However, I read the description carefully and it seemed to fit my taste and so I bought it and I’m glad I did. It has a nice aged flavor, would taste better in...
