Re: Introduce Yourself

Very much welcome to the tea party on the other side of the rabbit hole, DMI ! After you mentioning it, I'd probably be lavishing inquisitive gazes at those inconspicuously drinking working man's breakfast teas in hopes that they'd clue me in on the gyokuro or some other fancy leaves :). Second hat ...

Re: Yixing

Sleepy , I'd heed the Vinski 's advice and incorporate a bathing routing into one's day. Submerge it in a pot of hot water whenever you're having a shower yourself and then take it out afterwards and let it dry naturally. Don't rush it, the bonding process takes time and consideration. I'd be surpr...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Welcome, adrieent ! It's peculiar that you mention putting tea into water, where as a more common way here is the reverse =). Either way, that's just one solid reason to go on exploring world of tea and it's dwellers. Personally would be curious if you'd ever pop up in the liu bao section one day. C...

Re: Introduce Yourself

chaeric , nowsharing , please, have a pillow or pull up a chair and join in! Just had a chuckle thinking how natural it'd be here to bear dozens years of drinking time and yet take it lightly, aged and jovial. Hm, or was it the bunch of assam leaves I've just had that made me giddy, never mind. We'...

Re: Your day in tea

I've been having a cake of 7542 puer that had been through a rather dry stint. I worried that I might have smothered it into a bitter and angry specie. Still decided to make good for it and was cherishing it with all comfortable elements I could muster, warm and not too dry, shrouded from fluctuatio...

@Bok, I would guess @Andrew S to being humble there in putting it all on the lighting there. Admittedly, I doubt shipping the photographer would be any cheaper =).

Edit: murmuring to self, noting that there is so much priceless involved here.

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Bok , if you'd ever be considering ramping up your stoneware shop, then I'd earnestly advise you to partner with Andrew S for mouthwatering shots. Admitting that with a heavy heart though since I yearn for such tender impressions to spread on the matching personal connections. The idea hasn't sprou...

Welcome, @Cyphrex! These drinks can be plenty sweet with no sugar at all, though chai is great with sugar.

Re: Introduce Yourself

That's a plenty an endearing quest you're off to, withoutAclue ! And a sincere curiosity would sure get you plenty fun and the snobs in here (they aren't real ones, just trying to be protective of the yummier supplies of tea) would give you all advice you need. If you'd ask me, I'd suggest to maybe ...

Re: Takashi Ichikawa article

That's a beautiful article indeed. Even magical in how it entwines the ideas dear to people of all walks of life, whether one makes their tea out of teabag or with prized ancient utensils, kind of 'tea is life' angle that's still steeped in the practical and down-to-earth attitude. It being a tea re...

Enchanting teapot you have there, @Andrew S! Realy like how the lavish low set belly looks in this shot. What shape is it? Anyway that's my ideal for yancha brewing vessels, to keep plenty of billowing intrigue snuck underneath the lid.

I like that the website uses words like "investment", "world class", "true exclusivity", etc., which seems more honest than let's say "enlightement" While the store owner isn't looking, may I pick up this argument and reshuffle it as both, promise of wealth and promise of wisdom (not a correct anal...

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking

But why are some of the examples in chunks like puerh, and some loose like maocha? Isn't all Liu Bao pressed? All factory liu bao I've drunk (not a huge lot, somewhat representative sample) where loose leafs, maybe with occasional stray chunks. Maybe it's due to liu bao isn't ever tightly packed, u...

Re: Does anyone believe anyone any more?

Such a dear to my heart question! I try to stick to the 'trust the dj' mantra, unless there's an air of grift in the air. Served me well thus far, but it's been getting harder and harder to go with it for some time. Trust is as rare as hen's tooth in my location, but it's been getting a beating arou...
