Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic

@faj, those sound like solid points! Ditto the use of 'blanching' term. Sorry, but i'm rather low on data to derail this topic any further with :).

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic

Welcome polezaivsani. I haven’t tried their green teas but really enjoyed a Rougui- Cassia Extraordinaire 2016 from Tea Hong. Thanks Victoria! For a small aside, while trying to research them, i found an interesting article on blanching leaves on the sister information outlet, shedding light at the...

I've found they work well with Sheng Puerh that are above 15 years.
@OCTO, would you mind telling how it makes DCQ a good fit for shengs older than 15 years? Does the rounding effect befits such teas in some way? I haven't drunk those at all yet, if that matters .

Sorry, can't vouch for the teas, but their macro shots of tea splashes bear pretty saliva inducing colors :D I'd be curious to know if the nice photography is accompanied by like wise teas too.

Bok, assuming it's some hefty piece of glass rather than a smartphone camera, what's it's focal length? Top notch shot.

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Tea Urchin is one of my favorite vendors but all I've had from them is yanchas and I got a hefty sample of that Snake Blend due to curiosity. I just had some of it since you mentioned it ;D Yeah, i heard of them sporting fine oolongs. Guess i'd do some more sampling while replenishing the snake ble...

I have the 2013 spring version, its very good. It is what started me drinking sheng puerh.
Hehe, i think that was the very first sheng for me as well! Admittedly, that's the only cake i have tried from them. What about you, did you find any other interesting sheng pressed by urchins?

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Tea urchin's snake blend is a special tea for me. I love '13 version more, but ran out of it hence it's '14 version's turn. The resulting soup varies quite a bit depending on which leaves i end up picking and i tend to like this unpredictable nature, though i got a rather bland slice this morning, w...

Re: A bunch of hand made Bi Luo Chun I wont drink

I should've long done this before and still want to share my experience with these teas with whomever cares to listen :) Or rather with this other tea which came as a bonus - Huang Shang Mao Fen. So far i've had little exposure to green teas. This one though made much less of stubborn puerh drinker....

Shengs that greet you with methol and sweet fruits

I've stumbled upon a two young sheng specimens ([1] and [2]) that when dry smell suspiciously strong of menthol and sweet fruits or berries. When stepped, the menthol leaves a trace cooling effect while the sweet berries are mostly present for a while longer, if transformed and intermingled with the...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Have had a blast with a little piece of sweet sheng cake called Huazhu danzhu from last year's sping harvest. Got it blindly when getting some teaware from pu-erh.sk. And it was it again picked by chance to try out how the cup would fare. I got a bit suspicious how the fragrance from the bag resembl...

Re: Turkish Style Brewing

Yep, that kind of serving tea is still practiced at home by Russians still, while tea bags are making quite a dent in that ritual. To me the resulting soup always felt as if tea and water didn't mix up properly and i could almost feel the two apart.

They are all right in fact!

Guess i'm a bit spoiled by the popular whirlwind pace. Just relaxing and giving them some time works just fine :) Pardon me the noise.

Re: Puerh Vendor Topic

Guess i didn't have to even whisper for the new year to come along with changes, and i promise i'll cherish however they'll come, but i'm a bit puzzled nonetheless. Seems like my beloved supplier of lovely (or lively? :)) young-ish Yiwu shens, Tea Urchin is hard to reach out to (i'm still holding my...
