Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
I've treated myself to some EoT's farmer style liu bao yesterday and had to get back to my daily drinker, Duoteli landscape box from 2012 today, as with every session of fine LB i'm risking to lose the ability to glean at least some bits of pleasure from the austere factory produce. There is no pine...

Re: Yixing advice
m2193 , it's called resetting or deep cleaning and it's been discussed here - the search will have it i suppose. But you don't necessarily have to follow that blindly. Just try brewing sheng puer with it and see if you'll notice any remains of the oolongs in aroma or taste. And even then, i'd proba...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
It's real winter mode here, hence i decided to try the 90s (1995 iirc) white label shou tuo i got from EoT in the last BF gift galore. Appropriate disclaimer, i rarely drink shou and first time such an old one. Guess now i see what good settling through time can do to shou. It misses a bit somewhere...

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
I tried a bit of 2005 Four Gold Coins liu bao from EoT, mostly to have a better point of reference and find it really good. Had tons of camphor - a good deal similar to the the 2003 Zhang Xiang CNNP cakes from the same folks. I'd could just stop describing it flavor wise really, there where couple s...

Such (or similar?) cups had been seen making it to Yann Art Gallery lately.

Re: Yixing
faj, those shuipings seem to have walls on the thinner side, which might be not ideal with heat loving teas. I have posted previously on why I think thick walls will probably mean a lower infusion temperature except in specific conditions. @faj, thanks a ton for speaking some thermo dynamic sense i...

@Maerskian, i was speaking about The Chinese Tea Shop. They claim to have couple baskets from 90s and one antique, without a time stamp to it. (along with 80s Ju LUn Zhu )

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
I'll ask Länggass about their liu an provenance, but it didn't seem to my inexperienced eye as having been through wet storage. Thought it looked and felt too green to my liking still. I've set my tipping point at dozen years. Previous century baskets are quite pricey at Chinese tea shop (north of $...

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
wave_code , was that one from Good Tea or Ying Kee tea house? Not sure if the latter do business online though. About 5 (some time 1 or 2 more) good steeps is what i usually get, and i prefer to push really thick, with the last steeping taking as long as the teapot could hold heat. And that's about...

Re: What HeiCha are you drinking
Dug out a couple samples from the bottom of my tea box. First one - 2005 Zhongcha Sea Dyke liu an. Rather stiff leaves and interesting cherry onset in the cup, which alas dwindles over succeeding steeps. The base though was reminiscent of a liu bao with a slightly bitter ink and nuts. Wet piling aro...

Re: Yixing
That must be from some cha dao canon, isn't it, .m. ? Tea pot, a focal point, lower third right in the middle. Dear guests all around it, center proper. Well mannered folly, shoes off when atop a desk, illegal booze stowed in the wicker basket, calling in for some boiling water or something :D. Happ...

Re: Introduce Yourself
Welcome, @wtreader! The Japanese teaware keeps on teasing me off of the last remaining bits of rational thought. One question - what are, pardon my ignorance, the sticks between the kyusus used for?
