Re: Celadon Appreciation

Hi everyone, been a while.

Took me a good 15 minutes to find the picture because I knew I saved it somewhere. I gave these cups to my brother and made the photo just before handing them over. I'm slightly regretting gifting them though ;)

Re: Share your Tokoname-yaki

That's a lovely Kyusu, I quite like it, how the grooves stand out from below but hide in the shot from above. Nicely detailed piece.

Re: Quality Chanoyu

Dear gentle-men and ladies, Long story short, a presumed lightning strike made scrap metal out of my desktop computer. In order to generate some money for a new one i announced a sale of sorts - discounts to be more precise. More details can be found here note the page in question has been removed w...

Re: Hagi

His works always seem to be 'relaxed', or giving a relaxed vibe to me. That color is also very cool and the one time I wanted to snap up one his works it was thát color. I remember coveting the images on Artistic Nippon for days and then it was sold (not to me :o).

Re: Ode to the Kyusu

Pan - Some clarification on Nanban: it refers to a style of pottery that originated with the Portuguese on the southern island of Japan. As Victoria noted, it has a rough and unfinished look. Nanban is sometimes translated as “southern barbarian”. thank you much ! I appreciate that. If I am not mis...

Re: Show Off Your Teaware Displays

Here I have the bulk of my collection, primarily set up for practicality and storage purposes but some of it is shown for my viewing pleasure ☺️ Hmphr i got an error trying to upload the image file.. this i...

Re: Share your Tokoname-yaki

Really nice Debunix and wow just the group after. I've always wanted to at some point get one of those kyusu with nobs all over but never got around to it and they don't seem to come up for sale that often. His work reminds me of chagama and those types of forms. I'm a little jealous!

Quality Chanoyu

Hi all, I started collecting Japanese tea bowls or chawan little over 10 years ago, that interest then grew to any and all Chanoyu related articles. Since then, my collection has grown exponentially (and out of bounds), and when I became a father I had to change my priorities. The website became a s...

Re: Hagi

Hiroshima Gallery eBay store also has a lot of work by Yamane Seigan, the Deishi family (Shibuya and Eiichi), Masanao Kaneta, and a few non-Hagi pieces as well. Fortunately I first visited in on a day off, because there are dozens of pages of lovely things, and quite a few very inexpensive pieces (...

Fuut the rams horn motif is interesting on the houhin, and the porcelain kyusu is like a whimsical cartoon. Pretty funny. Are they yours?
No they're not, I was surfing and wanted to share.

I can't follow at all those prices on the site. I see bowls priced $600,- i could buy elsewhere for less than 100,-.

Its been a long time since I visited here, too much has happened! How is everyone? I think these new ones are quite fancy. The first one is affordable - just no longer for me:) https://www.buyjp4u.com/product_detail.asp?Id=3717 https://www.buyjp4u.com/ganbare/ueditor/asp/upload/image/20200622/159283...

Re: Greatwheel//Greenwoodstudio

Hi Everyone, I just got a message back (well somewhere last night, but I only came back home now:). Seems he switched some things around and accidentally wasn't being found on Etsy anymore, now its back. And my heart raced for no reason. I was almost going to dedicate this topic to his work if he we...

Greatwheel / Greenwoodstudio

Hi everyone.

Does anyone know what happened with Shawn from above ceramic studio's? Since today the Etsy store can't be found, and the user neither..
