Re: Would you guys pay this much for a chawan?
Om, Akira Satake chawan, yunomi and guinomi are worth their price and more. He is a master at his craft, as are many others mentioned in TeaForum. To hold a masterpiece in your hand is an elevating experience. Not feeling the vibe though with song tea collection. Victoria, could you name some of th...

Re: Tokoname-yaki
Great cups Debunix! I haven't gotten that far as to add something from his line to my collection. As faith would have it now isn't really the best time for me to be spending money, however i just saw an oribe teapot on AN, and the need to contact Toru is growing.. must .. resist very nice pot though...
Re: Raku
Here's another utsushi (replica), tea bowl by the third Shoraku. The original was made by Koetsu Honami and was named Kaga (he is listed here: https://chano-yu.com/key-person-of-chanoyu/). Now on first appearance this item compared to the original is very flashy, which is linked to what i mentioned ...
Re: Hagi
Time to join in! I'm very lucky to own 2 pieces by Masanao Kaneta (one is a larger piece). The items already shown are gorgeous and i would love to get more but i'm already blessed with 2 items. This is the vase - the top and front reminds me Mt. Fuji but i'm not sure if that was intentional or not ...
Re: Hagi
Beautiful set, especially the kurinuki by Kaneta. A small treasure and fortune in your closet:)
Re: Raku
I'm very happy to see some people got inspired to join in! Love the pieces shown, compared to most of my rakuyaki (which is by Sasaki), the dimmer blacks are quite nice, and way different. (Most of), Sasaki's kuro seems to be more shiny. Here's a kasé type raku bowl. I do not know the maker, but it ...
Re: Raku
Here's another of my closest treasures. A dignified pair of aka and kuro chawan. They both have their own box, and are boxed together in another one. Made by Shoraku sandai, and what i specifically love about these types of bowls is that the glazes covers the koudai as well. They either glaze the fo...
Re: Raku
Maybe Rakuyaki isn't everyone choice, that's alright. I'll simply overflow this topic till someone feels the spark:) I absolutely love the raku bowls i have, love holding them and inspecting them (as i'm not really a koicha drinker). Here's a bowl by another artist who's quite well known; Rakunyu Yo...
Re: Hagi
One of my main regrets finding teachat in the first place --
Love the trio, i have a ton of Seigan's work myself so i can imagine the joy.

Re: Show Off Your Pots
Wow, I've always been envious of Toru, having so many beautiful pieces in this store (like his many Tokoname pots). Seeing the work below by Konishi Yohei, i feel myself wanting one of his works even more. Beautiful pot! I think should the point ever arrive that i can afford one i would have mayor t...

Re: Introduce Yourself
Victoria, where are your answers? :p How long have you been drinking tea? Its been about 6 or 7 years since i truly woke up to the beauty of Japanese ceramics. Drinking green tea since young, but since the interest in teaware its been more apparent. What kind of tea do you drink? Mainly green tea an...

Re: Gisui Natsume kyusu(140ml)
I maybe mistaken (but since the original photo's have poofed, imagebooth or photobooth or whatever, those hosts never last), but was this one in the teachat SOP? There was a similar kyusu on which i has placed a bid, but was happily surprised with a even higher placed pot. Just curious, nice piece a...
