Re: What's your tea of choice when you're sad?
I don't think I really do gravitate to a particular tea or genre when I am sad. there are moments of acute sadness when I want some thing easy that I don't have to think about because I can't spend the energy on infusing a tricking to properly or appreciating a really special tea. At those times it'...

Re: Everyday Puer and Heicha
I love the Menghai Lao Cha Tou for everyday puerh as a plummy, earthy, mellow, undemanding tea that is reliably pleasing to me and the many people who look forward to my tea sharing in the office and clinic. I got them first from Norbu (sadly no longer in tea retail) and Yunnan Sourcing. I have also...

Re: What Herbal Are You Drinking
This evening at a restaurant (MoMed, Los Angeles), I had a simple tea made with a wedge of what was described as a not-quite-preserved lemon, and a whopping quantity of fennel seed. It was LOVELY, with the seemingly overpowering quantity of fennel somehow tamed, pleasant notes of anise with a bit of...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
2093 Green Mark puerh, I think from Wing Hop Fung. It is lovely balanced tea right now with sweetness, earthiness, camphor and a bit of spice, just lovely.
such a tiny bit of tea gave such a fine first Infusion, and there will be several more. mmmm.

Re: Your day in tea
I opened My Obubu Tea Farm spring tea club delivery today (it actually arrived a week or so ago but I hadn't yet opened it). This one contains several gyokuro teas and the annual Sakura sencha, Plus a mysterious pouch simply labeled 20th anniversary. It is a rather mysterious tea without any English...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
grapes and jellybeans Curious: I get the grapes reference, that sounds quite tasty. But I don't think of a 'jellybean' flavor, perhaps because I was introduced to JellyBellies at an early age--a cousin started carrying them in her shop long before they were staples of every sort of candy and gift s...

Re: Your day in tea
It's been a lovely tea day. I started with some water left on the sencha leaves from yesterday's morning sencha (from Obubu), because yesterday morning I was in a rush and could not 'finish' the session. I somehow hit upon a very nice dilution of that cool concentrated infusion with fresh hot water,...

Re: Introduce Yourself
I remember Fukujuen looked intriguing but we kept passing it when it was closed, on a main shopping street. I can't find my notes at present to remember others.

Re: Introduce Yourself
I did get to try some tea at Tsuen tea house, and it was lovely, and I bought a bunch of tea to take home. if I recall correctly, we were joined for part of our session by someone who identified as a member of the Family that owned the shop. It's not far from Kyoto! But tea was not high on Mom's to ...

Re: Looping usps packages
I had a China post parcel that was delivered to my regional post office right around the new year, if I recall correctly, but after Christmas. It sat there for something like two weeks before it abruptly moved to my local post office and was delivered the next day. usually when I see that arrival at...

Re: Korean green tea (nokcha)
I have been negligent of Korean greens from my Tea Buy Korea purchases at times and discovered them a year or two later and found them still quite delicious, perhaps not as fresh as they might've been otherwise but still very good. I have never refrigerated them.
Does that help?
