Re: Yixing

A 'medium-sized' teapot at around 70mL in the foreground, set to a background of giant teapots. As before, more photos to follow in due course, possibly while brewing some yancha. Andrew ./download/file.php?id=10872 Very cute chubby shuiping. At 70ml, it should do well with Yancha. Is this zini or ...

Re: Yixing

I feel like I need to counterbalance all these GIANT pots everyone is posting. Here is my latest Yixing gamble based on super blurry photos. It looks to be the smaller sized xian piao from early 60’s. You can see a very faint mark under lid which is probably 線漂 seal. It also appears to have origina...

Re: Schott glass teapots

Originally made in Germany -- Schott is still around, but I think they stopped making teapots in the early 2000s? I think the first was a design by Wilhelm Wagenfeld in the 1930s (photo courtesy of MoMA). Does anyone have a Schott pot? ./download/file.php?id=10846 Very interesting information. My c...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Anyone has this issue? Yup . No other cure than playing the waiting game for me. On the upside it makes me appreciate the "sheng months" more. Balthazar It seems the only way to wake the puerh is by maintaining high enough temperature and humidity. I wonder if a dough proofing machine would do the ...

The chop has this craftsman’s name 毛映紅, which explains t...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

My Pu erh consumption has slowed down in the last 2-3 months due to the tea tasted different from summer time. Currently, my home is about 55-65 degree and 50-62 humidity depended on the time of day. Summer time, the temperature would increase to 80-100 degree with humidity hovering around 45-55. I ...

Interesting article, a possible 60s version
In my opinion, it's from the 70s.
You maybe right, it does have a honeycomb filter.

Re: Yixing

Hey Mark-S are the two pots posted by vintage_hifi_teapot_collector also from F1? Out of all the pots on that list, those 2 pots he has look somewhat unique. They're not. They are full handmade, by a good craftsman. steanze thanks for confirming. They seem to have more character comparing to mold m...

Yes, I'm still active :) and I've acquired some pots lately. But I'm still in the process of cleaning them. This is the newest pot. It's from 1960.

Re: Yixing

I have no luck finding info on F1 large persimmon pots with this type of lid. The lid style is pretty common. Your pot could be from F1 in my opinion. I've got a confirmed one with a similar lid but with different clay (not coated). My teapot looks like the last one. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bby...

Yes, larger teapot sizes sometimes give more space to the craftsman to curate some details - not just decorations, but also things like the change in the cross-section of the handle and the spout... ./download/file.php?id=10817 steanze Beautiful curves 😍. Got time to show the whole TiLiang pot?
