Re: Tea and Personality

I’m definately “specialist” on that list. Went through a lot to find what I like, and now I perfect the best of the best.

Re: Tea and Personality

That’s awesome. I guess what got me into tea was realizing there was “top shelf” tea available. Always been a huge coffee head so naturally gravitated towards black tea, got into a lot of green tea then ultimately found puerh. I feel like I can get everything I like about black and green teas in a p...

Re: Flavor Profile of Sheng/Raw

Guy Juan What’s the typical shipping time for King Tea Mall to send tea to where you at? Based on their site, it seems their tea is shipped from Guang Dong. Have you purchase any yixing from them, if you have, what’s your experience of the quality? Thanks! 10 days to the door. I purchased a 90ml yi...

Re: Flavor Profile of Sheng/Raw

Noonie I highly recommend KingTeaMall com. Everything I’ve sampled from them is very clean and quality seems great. I’ve found some more expensive teas are not what I’m looking for in puerh. I like the spicy or smoky ones with a decent amount of astringency like the dry taste of tannin. It seems mo...

Re: Gongfu with white tea?

Months after I started experimenting and trying shou puerh, an advice from a friend about brewing time and leaf quantity was totally life-changing. How do you brew your shou? I’ve been recently experimenting and wondering what works for you? As for white tea gong fu style: 6g tea 100ml gaiwan 1st b...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

@Noonie I wonder if the taste of the fridge (plastic and metal) would be absorbed by the tea. That’s the only reason I haven’t geeked out on the project myself lol.

@Noonie oh ok, I’m still trying to figure how long I can cupboard store before that happens...keeping them in plastic bags for now.

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

”Young Sheng” is all GTH mentioned about it’s age. Supposedly from 1,000-2,000 year old trees...regardless it’s a very clean tasting tea, but tastes more like a green tea or inbetween a green and puerh. I prefer my puerh to taste more like puerh but I can see how some would really like this one. It’...

That's the great thing I'm learning about pu'er, you can have many open samples and cakes, and not have to over-worry about spoiling...like you do with most green teas.
Wont the puerh still dry out too much and go stale?

I brewed a Gyoruko for 15 minutes in room temp water and it was awesome!
I never tried with gyokuro... only 15 minutes... really strong tea!
Not too strong if brewed in room temp water. Very good you should try.

Re: Kunming EMS Shipping

I might wait until Friday. When I emailed them after 8 days of “pre-shipment” status they said this method can take up to 20 days and there are no alerts to issues...although I paid $45 for “7-15 day” shipping and it’s been 15 days with no tracking updates. Patience is your friend. I quite understa...

I ordered from another site the same time and received it over a week ago. Also EMS shipping. I have a feeling it’s lost
