Re: How did pu'er end up in Hong Kong in the first place?
I’ve found this in the book “Tea War: A history of capitalism in China and India” p.270. Maybe it helps with putting some things into perspective. “The dream of a tea industry revolution was unexpectedly given new life during the Second World War. Over the summer and fall of 1937, Japanese forces en...

Re: Japanese Teaware Vendor Recommendations
Weird, I made three teaware orders from him in the last year or so and never had any issue with communication. Even if I just asked about some teaware he replied within a day.

Re: Hokujo Teaware
I found this now already sold offering of Hokujo. Never seen this kind of shape/glaze(?) from him. Somehow it reminds me of Inge Nielsen work.

Re: Hokujo Teaware
Takeyoshi from http://www.tokoname.or.jp/teapot/maker_profile/hokujo/ might have some pieces. I bought few Hokujo pieces from him. What was not available he restocked for me. Good luck.

Re: Novák & Randová Teaware
I was in contact with Mirka at the start of the year regarding her and Novak’s work and was told to deal with Petr on my own as they are no longer together. She also mentioned some changes on the site - which were probably removing him completely. I don’t know. I have a feeling he will return some w...

Some new teaware will be available tomorrow. This time Mirka's offerings will be accompanied with pieces from Sedlak and Sklenička.

Re: New EU VAT regulations
I noticed this a few months ago. One of the solutions that was mentioned while I was reading through is that the customs would probably be paid in advance - I know amazon offers sometimes that you can pay fixed amount when ordering abroad - and therefore became a part of the total cost of the purcha...

Re: Teaware You Think We Need:
So now I always dream about another scoop but don't feel like going into 200$ purchase again. Sedlak's wood works are really nice, but for that money you may just carve one yourself. All you need is a piece of wood and a gouge (round chisel): the easiest is if you use green (fresh) wood and rough i...

Re: Teaware You Think We Need:
Really nice wooden scoop Bok. Who made it? Well spotted, one of my all time favourite tea accessory pieces. One of the few I have never thought of upgrading. It's made by a local Taiwanese wood-craftsman. Means a lot to me, back then I exchanged it with him for a teapot I made. Really nice. It is s...

Re: Teaware You Think We Need:
I don't think I've ever seen that before. My tea tray came with one of those tubes and I don't even like my tea tray. I'm going to get one with a large basin underneath, also the wood gets stained by tea if the color isn't dark enough. Before I found the beauty above, I used a copper made one I bou...

Re: The Essence of Tea
However, I can't manage to drink the volume of tea that comes in, so I will need to pause at some point. Or maybe I just need to learn to drink more tea 😁 In the recent past I wondered if I should get a subscription (with EoT or otherwise), and the reason I did not is exactly that. For some reason,...
