Re: Yixing advice

I also have Shen Ye Qin’s dou qing ni and DCQ pots, and yinchen’s DCQ. The price reflects the craftsmanship. I like the dou qing ni pot for fresh sheng puerh (1-4 years). The DCQ pot is very versatile. hey pantry, what's new? I find myself staring at that pot, sometimes it looks grey other times sl...

Re: Yixing advice

I have one of the YZG DCQ pots made by Shen Ye Qin. I've been using it with early 2000s sheng and am very happy with it; the tea is smooth, full, and sweet every time. It's almost effortless. Others here know more than me but I'm very satisfied with my experience. I haven't used a Yinchen DCQ pot, ...

Basically, all red glazed antique cups are very likely to leach lead, this style in particular almost 100%.
What about the brown glaze on those exported Bavaria tea cups? I suppose we can use a straw, and wear gloves when handling these toxic teacups 😂

Re: FS: Tea, Teapots & Tea book -- Summer Cleaning!

Last day to ship is this Thursday.

Adding one more item (and possibly my other shu puerh cakes in the future).

A 2016 old trees ripe puerh cake from via Chanting Pines. It still has a little over 300g left, and would like to sell for $60 + shipping. Please DM before Thursday.
Cheers!

Re: Global Tea Hut

klepto I don't think they're trying to indoctrinate anyone, as they're not forcing people to subscribe or read their magazines. Sure, you might see their ads here and there on IG. There are aspects of GTH that turn me off, but I've listened to some of Wu De's tea talks, and I think the core of his ...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

All this talk about danzhu had me dig out some teas for an experiment. Two danzhus & one typical multi-trees gushu. All 2019 Spring harvest. I don’t have the maocha version of the multi-trees, so will have to keep that in mind. Honestly there’s not much difference between the two danzhus. Maybe one ...

Re: NY Times article about beautiful tea

If you ask me tan wearing vest guys are probably worse, haha I agree. Fake tan + vest is an awful combo  treetime I want to assure you that you’re not alone in feeling this way, but I don’t necessarily see gender policing on this forum. There are misinformation, bad judgements, obnoxiousne...

klepto I haven't tried it yet  ...Got distracted by other teas  pantry I had both the 2005 and 2006 in loose leaf form. I can't tell the difference so I bought the 2006 Tai He cake. Where can you buy Wistaria's Hotien Houtuo? I don't see it on their website. Do you have to email them ...

klepto Did you manage to grab EoT's Lao Jie Zi in your order too? Wondering if it's worth the hype  vuanguyen Tai He is actually my favorite among Wistaria tea, but I much prefer the 2005 version. Did you get a chance to sample the same tea from the different year? I just had Wistaria's Hotien...

Re: NY Times article about beautiful tea

Only last week, I did a virtual private tea session with one of Wu De's students. It was fantastic! Very meditative and spiritual. I have to ask, was that person a model too? j/k Honestly I don't think the message they're sending is bad. I like the Taiwanese oolong I got from GTH. Bok I have ...

Re: Making fake tetsubin water for cheap - just add iron egg!

Interesting product. Thank you for sharing! I'd be more careful about the plastic kettle getting melted by the egg though, since iron can get really hot!
