Re: hei cha brewing methods
What about going the opposite of what you said here: I do 1g/10ml and start steeps at 20-30 seconds. This usually rewards intense syrupy cups but because of the nature of the production process of hei cha the steeps are never bitter, astringent nor gross.

Re: Combining Tea with other Interests
I play banjo. I find tea doesn't effect my playing like the moonshine does  Shine, I also game. What type of games do you play? I play League of Legends. Same username too! Starcraft II and Dota II for me. I am a Nintendo fan! Recently I played Dark Souls, in which I discovered I should never ...

Re: Combining Tea with other Interests
My tearoom overlooks a nature preserve so I observe wildlife and the seasons while drinking tea and listening to the hifi. There’s a small creek about 100 feet below, deep in the valley that I can hear flowing. The clouds and light are magnificent. I can’t imagine doing anything better while having...

Re: What White Are You Drinking
Has anyone tried the Old Arbor White from White2Tea. This is the most expensive white tea I have bought but is extremely up my alley. Unfortunately, I had a hard time the other day with getting leaves off and so only a few steeps were in a sweet spot of not bitter then just weak. Hopefully next tim...

Re: Question regarding rolled roasted teas
But I have just noticed more and more when it comes to the rolled style I am drinking it and I like it! But that's about it. They have a nice sweet caramel, maybe floral/fruity thing going on. It's interesting - These are the types of DD/TW tea I tend to stay away from. FLT definitely has good Dong...

Re: Question regarding rolled roasted teas
Thank you for the replies everyone. I think I have realized two things: I need to sample more and definitely taste side by side.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hi Everyone! How long have you been drinking tea? For about 8 years, if you are including the first year or two being Teavana/David's Tea blend sorta stuff. What kind of tea do you drink? Raw Puerh (I do not like ripe), oolong of the roasted kind - Taiwanese dong ding, Wuyi and Dancong and whites mo...

Re: Question regarding rolled roasted teas
Hi victoria! I should have posted more specifics about my own experience with these teas. I am specifically talking about what is typically medium oxidized and roasted, like an old fashioned dong ding. I usually buy from Floating Leaves. You have a good point when comparing this style to Wuyi and Da...

Question regarding rolled roasted teas
Hi Everyone! I enjoy rolled roasted oolongs alot, like the ones from Anxi and Taiwan. Lately, something has been irking me a little about them though. Essentially, I have found that it is harder to differentiate quality between differing teas in this category. I drink a lot of Dancong and Wuyi where...
