Re: Pesticides: Are Chinese and Indian teas safe to drink?
This site maintains testing data on pesticide residues found in the US for conventional vs. organic foods: https://www.whatsonmyfood.org/ For a few items, there was no pesticide found on either conventional or organic (avocados, for example). And some items had similar amounts of pesticide on the or...

Re: What teas are easy on the stomach
Darjeeling and Keemun seem to be the most mellow, of the teas I drink regularly.
For Darjeeling, I use Vahdam mainly, but I've been meaning to try thunderbolt and darjeeling tea boutique as well.

Re: Has the internet lost interest in British-style tea?
As for Yunnan Tea, for a while there, every single 'recommend me some loose leaf tea' post on reddit was bombarded with astroturfing from Yunnan Sourcing alt accounts. I don't doubt that a lot of it is just trends, though. Online tea discussion was a bit more diverse ~15 years ago when I found teach...

Re: Looking for new tea tray recommendations
This is my current setup. I used to have many nice kyusu, chawan, yunomi, etc. But, the glass is easy to clean. Tray was $22 from Amazon.

Re: Tea and Gut Health
Vegans I've heard, take to tea badly... Where did you hear that? I've been vegan since 2003, and a daily tea drinker since 2001. Never had the least problem from either, in fact quite the opposite- nothing goes down better after a hearty meal of rice and legumes or tofu, and soy sauce, hot sauce, c...

Re: Darjeeling tea drinkers - do you have preferred estates?
Picked up 100g of Castleton today. Best darn tea I've had to date! Yes it is. And priced to match. I just bought 100g of Castleton second flush, but I usually look for teas I can find at $20/100g or less for daily drinking. I also found a 2020 Giddapahar 2nd flush that is almost as good, but half t...

Re: What Black Are You Drinking
Just opened a package of Castleton 2020 Second Flush Darjeeling.
If memory serves, this one is about as good as last time I had it, in 2018. Plenty of those fruity muscatel notes.
I have 3 other SF to try, hopefully one of the less expensive ones will be good, too.

Re: What White Are You Drinking
Had Vahdam's 'Darjeeling Pearl' today. I've had some spectacular Darjeeling First Flush White's from Vahdam before, incl that Arya Pearl, which I thought perhaps this would be, but this particular batch was unspectacular. Not bad, just, for the price I was hoping for better. I picked 6 Darjeelings o...

Re: What Black Are You Drinking
LeoFox Cool. Yeah, YS' dianhong has beautiful leaf appearance, but is not the best, and I tried most of their offerings. I think he goes for affordability over taste. Teaspring's doesn't look as pretty, but tastes far more complex and refined. And is costlier, $24/100g, though still a good price im...

NYTimes Article: Increasing Prices of The Great Wines
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/22/dining/drinks/wine-prices.html Title of the article is "How Income Inequality Has Erased Your Chance to Drink the Great Wines." It reminds me we are lucky that most "great" teas are still somewhat affordable, by comparison to wines. Yes, prices have been increasing...

Re: Electric Kettles
I'm still using the Cuisinart PerfecTemp I've had for ~6 years. It's my second, and before that I used the Adagio UtiliTea, also was adjustable. The Cuisinart kettle might not be quite as elegant as a Bonavita Gooseneck, but it does the job, and well. The temp settings still require using a thermome...

2019 Arya Diamond SF Darjeeling (Gold Edition) from Thunderbolt. so good i had two sessions in a row of it. pedant , Arya is fantastic, huh. The past couple days I've immensely enjoyed teaspring's yunnan pure gold (isn't actually 100% gold, but tastes much better than most that are), keemun hao ya ...

I'm a little late to this, but... Castleton, Gopaldhara, Arya, Okayti, Giddapahar, Goomtee, Avongrove, Glenburn, come to mind.
