Re: Outdoors - let's see your tea set up

I have one of the clay kettles from Global Tea Hut with the coal braiser. I was also going to buy a butane or propane 1 burner camping stove.

Re: Novice help please

Get a cheap digital scale that can go to tenths of a gram. Like $10 on amazon. It will really help with your consistency.

Re: Side Handle Pots

I get what you are saying Bok. It shouldn’t be so serious. I just feel I find myself much more into the ritual and focus when I practice gungfu tea then when I prepare bowl tea. With gungfu I am concentrating on how many grams per my vessel, the water temp, infusion time, how to taste it in the smal...

Re: When a session goes wrong for no logical reason

I notice when I eat something sugary the taste of tea changes and gets more muted and subdued. Also within an hour of brushing my teeth I wont drink tea. Makes it taste awful.

Side Handle Pots

Hi, I recently got a 500ml global tea hut life meets tea side handle pot and I have to say I am in love with this thing. Makes the water tastier and I like brewing with it. I am still figuring out how to use it but really have been enjoying the results. I like when brewing with it their is a loosene...

Re: Season a Kyusu?

I got it off ebay recently from Tokonamejp. Has a signature below the handle. Looks very similar to the Honshudei ones on that TC link.

Re: Season a Kyusu?

Interesting. I read about this builder and his clay from an older teachat thread. It’s an 85ml Shudei from Gisui. Here is the post that got me inspired to pick it up. I will definitely try some more styles in it.

Season a Kyusu?

I just got a small shudei Kyusu that I want to use for gaoshan. I usually don’t season my pots, just start brewing in them. First round thu it felt pretty muted so I’m wondering if I should season it a little first before putting really good tea through it.

Re: Water Water Everywhere... What’s Your Water?

After reading this thread I played around with water options. I originally was just using a reverse osmosis filter that was filtering Brooklyn tap water. Tea was flat and did not have great flavor and mouth feel. Just thin and lifeless. I then ordered a case of Volvic. The tea tasted OK but still a ...
