Re: Chicago tea festival

Anyone going? https://chicagoteafestival.com/ Hello, Brent. Long time away. The event sounds like there is not a whole lot of good sampling. For $25, I would like to be drinking special, rare, .... not watching a tea ceremony or seeing British afternoon tea sets. Cheers Take a look at the cupping s...

Looking for a pot with specific criteria

Looking for a pot with specific criteria:
Im looking for a pot that holds 300-350ML
Glazed on the inside at least. Porcelain would be optimal.
Must have built in multihole filter. Not stainless.
Not a side handle. Looking for one that has the conventional handle on the back.
Any suggestions?

Re: Coronavirus

I saw some drone footage of Wuhan. Very eerie. It really seems to be more of a flavor of the day in the news for the west. Our media is focused on internal politics and other fleeting stories that are quick attention grabbers. You need to search for things pertaining to the virus. We are hearing tha...

Re: Coronavirus

That is some good news! Hopefully this outbreak can be contained quickly and tea, Chinese goods, and the people of China can put this behind them soon. Any good being shipped from china, brings people with it. People to load and unload. A person to pilot the plane, or boat. People that are just loca...

Corona Virus

Well, We may as well talk about it.
Its all over the news in the west. Id love to hear from people living abroad, as our news outlets are...questionable. Whats the word out there in the world.
Ill admit, I am not ordering any tea until this gets resolved.

Re: Caffeine in White, green, oolong, red, pu

Thats some good info! Makes sense as well. multiple cups of black/red tea have no effect on me, but if I get a little overzealous with a green or young sheng, I feel it. So perhaps these tests were done on raw leaf rather than a finished brew. Is this just knowledge you have amassed over time or do ...

Re: Caffeine in White, green, oolong, red, pu

Ive never heard of it either. Im not exactly sure. Thats why I posted. Oxidation is by definition the atom or molecule losing electrons, so I suppose loss of mass does make sense, but there is a corresponding reduction, so mass should be conserved? I wouldnt think that an oxidized tea has a lower in...

Caffeine in White, green, oolong, red, pu

What are the caffeine levels of different types of teas? Somewhere along the way, I got it in my head that the oxidation process made the caffeine levels in tea deteriorate. Perhaps I made this up? I googled it today, and found a lot of differing "studies". Most stated that black (oxidized/ non-ferm...

Re: A bit of gossip about TC...

I only come across the old site when I google something, and it comes up. Last time I tried to post something, it told me it needed to be approved. It never happened.
I dont think its very active. They killed it. All the regular posters are here.

Re: Tea from Taiwan this season

I would agree. I found almost all of what I had this year to be disappointing. I did find some worth drinking though. Nothing spectacular.

Re: Fancy tea tables/tray

Exactly.
I may get this one and plug the hole and drill a new one out of the bottom so I can add my own reservoir.

Re: Fancy tea tables/tray

Yes, many are a bit too over the top. I really like this one, but to have it made of ebony and shipped would be a lot of money, so I figured if I am going to spend that much, I better be sure I want it. https://www.etsy.com/listing/701468704/tea-table-6035cm-chaban-for-gongfu-tea?ga_order=most_relev...
