Re: Vacuum sealers?
I like to store my teas in mason jars with screw-caps (Bormioli), which I then vacuum seal by taking the air out of the jars till the capsule collapses and no longer clicks in the middle. It's a bit cumbersome to do every single time but because I tend to have quite a few teas lying around at any gi...

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
What kind of organic tea are you looking for? Hi, Any sort really! :D I've actually just ordered some organic Assam/Darjeeling so I should be fine for a while when it comes to Indian teas. So now I'd be looking to source some Chinese/Taiwanese/Japanese organic teas. I'm having a hard time, though, ...

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
The best is to check out on the websites or to write to the shop to ask them. Shui Tang has some organic, but in japanese tea there is only matcha. I can't find the mention "organic"on Laenggasstee but I would be surprised if the had nothing. Oh sorry, I didn't mean relative to these two websites o...

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
Actually I'm thinking that if I order from CH, and they're willing to declare the value under €22, I might be fine.. I mean, I'd be surprised if a parcel from Switzerland had to undergo inspection! mmm...

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
For Japanese tea within EU (actually France) I would recommend Kancha Tea . I have only tried puerh and white from this shop, but the Japanese greens have had extra good comments among experienced drinkers from French forum http://www.forumdesamateursdethe.fr . Here is the link for Kancha Tea green...

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
Protip: Japan is considered a trustworthy country by Italian customs, so half the time they won't even bother to inspect the package if there's enough info on it. That's great to know thanks. However, if I might get away with inspection costs, I'd still have to pay import duties due to the Japanese...

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
Haha, having a major in Japanese I'll say it's a cultural thing.....
The €22 is only part of the problem though. They'll still charge you for inspection, that's what happened with me last time, not import duties.

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
Hello again, I'm 'finally' running low on tea so I'm getting onto it right now, checking out all the websites that have been recommended. The Swiss store looks nice but unfortunately Switzerland is treated just like any 'regular' extra-EU country, thus will have to go through custom clearance and be...

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
I just got my first order today from Lao tea shop - http://www.laoteashop.cz For international orders just send them an email with what you would like and they can invoice you. Shipping to Vienna was something like 7 or 8 euros for up to 2kg, I didn't get any of their oolongs this time, but they ha...

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
heinza1983 , did our beloved postal service take care of the order? A month ago I ordered from China and made the mistake of choosing small parcel, which is handled by the postal service. As a result, the order has been sitting in customs for the past ten days. I never had a problem with customs as...

Re: Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?
I have a lot of trouble with customs as well, I just keep that added cost in mind when buying, if it goes through good, if it gets caught at least I was expecting it  Whenever possible to keep it under the ~20eu threshold (includes shipping) it's exempt. Avoid fedex and similar services like t...

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I'm a long time tea drinker, can't remember how long! I like to drink all kinds of tea and I prepare them in different ways depending on the type of tea. I'm always on the hunt for trying new teas and acquiring new knowledge. There are many aspects I love about tea: its his...
