Vintage Hagi-ware shibo that I use for sencha more than any of my other Japanese teaware! Perfect for one cup sessions.

Re: Drinking tea at night
The 50s pu erh was at Wistaria in Taiwan: not something I get to drink every day! :) I actually find green oolongs the strongest, followed by pu erh and black tea. Aged pu has no theanine, so the caffeine in it can definitely do a number on you. Green tea or white tea, if fresh, is very calming for ...

Re: Yixing advice
In geology, primary porosity is porosity due to how sediments deposited to form sandstone. Secondary porosity derives from subsequent processes like erosion. You can read a bit more about it here: https://www.spec2000.net/12-phibasics.htm I am not sure whether the terms "primary" and "secondary" in...

Re: Sencha: what water temp do you use for the second cup?
I use around 80 C for all three infusions: 45, 30 and 90 seconds. Works well for me!

2014 Dayi Platinum 60g square raw pu! Guangdong dry storage. Still a little bitter, but the smoke and bitterness have both mellowed significantly. I get mint and butter from this tea, as well as the wildflower note that I would get from young Dayi 7542. Nice daily drinker for a nice price, and would...

Wow, interesting bit about how 99% Vietnamese tea with 1% Taiwanese tea added at the end can be legally called "Taiwanese."

Re: TeaLife.HK -- Classic HK-style Teas!
I am running a sale through the whole of July: I'm looking for full-time employment, but haven't even heard back yet, so I have no choice but to run another sale since TeaLife is my sole source of income! I wish I had enough sales volume to sustain myself with this business. I'm going to put in ever...

O-Cha's cheapest organic matcha! https://www.o-cha.com/uji-organic-matcha.html?category_id=27 This stuff isn't bad at all and is very good value. Less interesting than their supreme, but great effect and only mildly bitter. I bought one of their mid-grade organic matchas as well for comparison. I'm...

Lao cha tou I bought in Kunming back in 2016 and have had at my home since then! It's aged wonderfully and is much smoother and easier on the tummy, with sweet and floral notes. It was good when purchased and is even better now.

Re: Factory or Faketory?
Ah, gotcha. I just figured that was a tea stain. Thanks, Steanze! It does not look like a tea stain to me, it seems like a mark left during the making, which indicates non-F1 like workmanship :) Good eye, I didn't even look at that! I felt the characters inside the lid looked too carefully incised ...
