Re: Help identifying or any info on this pot
We actually just returned from Taiwan. We have a toddler now, so sitting in a tea shop sampling tea quietly will need to wait a few years :lol: I did get to try out this pot on some young Jingmai sheng puerh ... Seems to work pretty well. I can really smell the orchid on the wet leaves in this pot. ...

Re: Help identifying or any info on this pot
I am a complete novice and very intimidated by clay pots. The only thing that I can do is taste.
I get the feeling that it would not be reasonable to ask to try out pots before buying. Is this the case?

Re: Help identifying or any info on this pot
Thanks for the replies. I brewed some gaoshan in it today and it handles fine, but seems to mute the tea. Maybe it'll do better with sheng.
Either way, it's nice to have my friend's father's pot to share tea with him.

Help identifying or any info on this pot
A friend gave me this pot. It was her father's who has passed and they don't know anything about it. Can anyone tell me anything about this? It feels and looks like a nicely made pot. It's on the larger size at around 175+ mL ( haven't measured). ( Update ... It's 150mL) Has a ball filter inside and...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
Just received my ripe Mengku from Farmer Leaf the other day. Took about a month to get to me (US). I'm pleasantly surprised. Super smooth and easy drinking with some seriously stimulating effects. It's been treating well at work And seems well priced for 357 cake. https://www.farmer-leaf.com/collect...

Re: Gaoshan harvest outlook?
https://www.instagram.com/tv/COXKhc7AsPm/ A quick video of a drought impacted garden in Shanlinxi. Looks like frost damage. Alishan, in general, seemed to have little crop loss in the higher areas but Shanlinxi was hit pretty hard in some spots. Great clip. Thanks for sharing this. I'm surprised th...

@Mountain Stream Teas
Thanks for the info! I look forward to hearing anything you find on you journey.
And hope Taiwan fills their reservoirs without washing everyone away.

Re: Pu’er Tea Acronyms & General References
Very nice this is super helpful. Does anyone care to take a stab at estimating how exhaustive this list is? Does this cover %60 of the producers ... or is it more like 5%?
I imagine there are 100's of small producers out there that most of us will never hear of.

Re: Gashon harvest outlook?
Yesterday's New York Times had an article on the drought in Taiwan. Rice farms are not irrigating (& farmers are being compensated). The water is going to the manufacture of semi-conductors which brings in more income & may keep China from severely bombing Taiwan. (I'm sorry, TeaForum is not the pl...

Re: Gashon harvest outlook?
Does low rain make better tasting tea, but in lower yields? Or is the lack of rain so substantial that the tea might be pretty bad.

Gaoshan harvest outlook?
Any locals @Bok have any insight into the upcoming harvest? How has the rain been? Are we in for a good year?

Re: Moldy Pu'erh!!!
After a couple of days wringing my hands and revisiting some TeaDB articles and thinking more about the RH/Temp/dew point relationship ... I am fairly certain that the issue was that the temperature was too low at night. Or you can also say that the RH was too high for those temperatures. I'm really...

Re: Moldy Pu'erh!!!
The interesting thing in this whole mater is that I have two pumidors that are humidified in the exact same way ... 2 half pint NaCl/sugar solutions in each pumidor. They are in the same place, experiencing the same temperature changes. Only one developed mold. The differences are that the one that ...

Re: Moldy Pu'erh!!!
@vuanguyen
I'm not sure how they come up with that calculation. That's an interesting tool.
My thought about the dew point was that if the temp dips below it, air could get condensation on the surface of the tea. Then RH doesnt matter.
Idk it's all just guessing right now.
