Re: Yixing
Two of my alleged F2 pots have a single-hole filter. Seems like multi-hole or ball filters are more common in the catalogs I've seen too, but I'm pretty sure I've seen multiple single hole examples for F2 (perhaps more so in the earlier pieces) both in catalogs and FB galleries (e.g. one example in ...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic
We can only speculate, especially since TdJ themselves arent pointing to financial reasons (operating at a loss, etc) for their change. If TdJ is dependent on imported goods/services for their operations, or e.g. have personal costs "back home" in France (or elsewhere) that are accrued in EUR (not u...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic
I think we are talking about the .com site here. They accept payment through PayPal or cars (Visa/MC). No hocus pocus special thing. Occam's razor is useful, if not always correct. In any case, the owners themselves have not pointed to any disadvantage for them from a cost point of view, only a tech...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic
We had a request from EU customer to pay in euro , saying similar issue with being "overcharged" if paying in USD ( which of course another way of paypal how to make some money ) . This example has little to do with the TdJ change, though. It's more like if you used to offer people to buy in either...

This is very disappointing, as is the "technical reasons" explanation. Thanks for sharing.

Re: importance of $/g ?
I think it's mainly a Western market thing too. In Norway it's mandatory for certainly goods that prices are stated not only per purchasing unit (box, bag etc) but also per kg. The stores selling the good have to display this, so that the stressed shopper doesn't get tricked that easily by "shrinkfl...

Re: Happy Lunar New Year 2024!!
Happy Lunar New Year to all! Nothing special in terms of tea for the occasion. Celebrating away from home, in China with family for the first time since the outbreak of covid. ... and what a year to finally make it back, as we're both dragons :) Raising my glass mug filled with grandpa-brewed tea an...

Re: Western facing F1 vendors list
Not sure what one means by "genuine" in this context. Don't know the person in question (though I've seen many of his post in the mentioned group), probably a nice guy with a strong interest in teapots, and not a deliberate scammer or anything like that. But your enthusiasm for something doesn't nec...

Gaoshan, apart from those you mentioned, I also recommend you try Chawangshop. ;) Talking about silky.. you would probably like it. Only thing it’s a double - smoked/unsmoked tea I wasn't aware he had offered another more recent version until your post brought it to my attention, thanks. The 2019 v...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking
501 8582 today. Been alternating between this and the 901 7542 when I'm working from home recently. These days I'm mostly drinking thorough two cakes at a time, letting the rest rest in the closet. The exception is office days when grandpa calls the shots, better quality leaves handle that kind of t...

Re: Probably a nixing teapot
And ,,these,, do you think are of decent quality? Or a low mass production not worth to try? :) These arent necessarily contradictory. E.g. much of the early period yixing is definitely "mass production" too. "Low", well it depends on your definition. For the artistic merits and artisan skill relat...

Re: How Much Tea Do You Consume Per Day?
Significantly lover caffeine consumption now (probably steep around 15 grams of tea leaves per day, but no coffee) though still more than I think would be optimal. Would definitely still feel it if I for some reason had to go cold turkey though.
