Re: Ruyao: What's in a glaze?

interesting. so you're saying higher oxidation state iron oxide reduced to iron(II) oxide (or even elemental iron particles?) gives a blue color? blue is not a color i associate with iron of any oxidation state, so i wonder if it's actually particles doing Rayleigh scattering or something. i wonder ...

Re: Jingdezhen Porcelain Travel Tea Set

Introducing our Jingdezhen Porcelain Travel Kung Fu Tea Set. nifty it looks like you can use the top half of the tray as a wastewater bowl for rinses and bits of leaf, yes? seems well thought out. one of the nicer travel sets i've seen. is that little cloth included? i see it in the pics but not in...

Re: Troubleshooting: Site Issues & Bug Reports

i'm noticing that many of you have reset your passwords over the last couple days...

just because the site rarely logs you out doesn't mean that it will never happen. remember those passwords, friends! ;)
(but you can always reset your pw if you really do forget)

Re: Troubleshooting: Site Issues & Bug Reports

I’ve noticed that for the past few days, I am required to sign in every day on mobile whereas I’d previously always be logged in. I’m using Safari on iPhone. Ah, wrong place to post this but alas it’s too late. no problem, moved it for you. when 'remember me' is checked on the login form (it is by ...

Re: Push notifications -- a useful feature?

It may not be exactly the answer for the question , but I believe it's related to same topic - to get an attention. I was wondering if is possible / logical to switch the function "Activity" other way around. I mean , each time I go on forum , the first thing I do , is press this button ( Activity ...

Push notifications -- a useful feature?

we're considering spending a small amount of money on something to provide browser-based push notifications for the site. if a user enabled it , their browser would notify them if they receive a PM, are quoted, are @mentioned, etc. this would work as long as they are logged into the site, but the si...

Re: Does conventional tea taste better?

there are different definitions of 'organic'. in the US, the USDA defines what can be labeled as such. at any rate, organic generally does not mean pesticide-free or fertilizer-free. you can pump tea plants up with organic, nitrogen-rich fertilizer and achieve the same effect as injecting ammonia in...

Re: Site Feedback & Discussion

I think Ive already mentioned that somewhere before, but I believe here is the right thread to write it. Since steepster is dying ( actually dead for me already ) , would be useful to create tasting DB here as well? There are some talks about it in steepster among the survivals there recently. I pe...

i have not noticed this, but on the tea-food subject, i've found that a couple back-to-back sessions of aged sheng can make me ravenous.
