Re: Share spring tea plucking and tea making in DaYuLing

Wow, an endorsement from a just signed up user with English that points to a non-native speaker... No one was saying anything about the tea being real or not, but now it certainly looks suspicious. in defense of the testimonial in question... its poster's IP address geolocates to a different countr...

Re: Research Corner: Interesting Journal Articles

lately, i have been enjoying a sencha from TdJ made from Sofu (蒼風) cultivar. it has a distinctive jasmine aroma, and so i started reading about it. it turns out that its distinctive aroma is due to methyl anthranilate. Methyl Anthranilate is the Cause of Cultivar-Specific Aroma in the Japanese Tea C...

Re: Where Do You Go For High Quality?

I found some suggestions from searching around in teachat (RIP) which led me to this forum. The mods suggested I check the “Vendors” section for high quality teas but that just seems silly considering they are TRYING TO SELL THE TEA! And I could not find the info I was searching for. the suggestion...

Re: Electric Kettles

you could try fashioning an insulating sleeve ('kettle cozy').

maybe you could take some neoprene and cut and sew it to be form fitting.

or even just wrap an old garment around the kettle and secure it with a few safety pins if you don't care how it looks.

Re: Where Do You Go For High Quality?

I’ve been ordering the most expensive teas from upton and teavivre hoping to get some decent quality teas, green mostly. Any suggestions for online ordering who is trusted for the highest quality? Hoping to find good vendors for Chinese greens, Japanese greens, oolongs and pu-erh. I really apprecia...

The key is the reduced oxygen. In an oxidizing flame iron will present as yellow or brownish red. In a reducing flame iron will present as green.
more details about green iron, please?

Re: Ruyao: What's in a glaze?

interesting. so you're saying higher oxidation state iron oxide reduced to iron(II) oxide (or even elemental iron particles?) gives a blue-green color? blue-green is not a color i associate with iron of any oxidation state, so i wonder if it's actually particles doing Rayleigh scattering or somethin...

i'm noticing that many of you have reset your passwords over the last couple days...

just because the site rarely logs you out doesn't mean that it will never happen. remember those passwords, friends! ;)
(but you can always reset your pw if you really do forget)
