Re: Kintsugi artists? students?
I did get quotes from Gen and Nissan Haque (via Instagam) and the were similarly out of my budget anyway. :( Who is Gen? Haven't heard. If you are careful you can try JB Weld foodsafe and glue it together. Might be good enough. Gen Saratini, their website is https://www.urushi.info/ I think I'll gi...

Re: Kintsugi artists? students?
Be aware that a break like this won’t be fixed with Kintsugi… the constant heat will be a short term solution only. Metall fittings and/or staples is prob the only doable way. Thanks for the information! That's unfortunate, not sure what I'll do with this pot now. I did get quotes from Gen and Niss...

Re: Kintsugi artists? students?
Hey there, I felt I should revive this thread rather than start a new one; I just broke the lid on a yixing pot of mine and was wondering if anyone had more recommendations for kintsugi artists? (preferably in the U.S.) I tried to contact Nissan Haque, but his email box was full and it appears he ha...

Re: TXPCeramics
I just added a new batch of teacups to my Etsy page! The celadon cups of this are very thin-walled while the galactic purple and moon pink cups are thicker-walled

Re: TXPCeramics
Am curious what is your loss rate with wood firing? Many vendors set premiums for wood fired ceramics, and one of the justifications is the high loss rate during firing. Loss is pretty low for small, simple teacups. I lost a few this firing, but mostly due to a glaze that I used that ran too much. ...

Re: TXPCeramics
Great looking work! I suspect the TXP relates to your name, but you wouldn’t happen to be located in Texas would you? Either way I second the notion of plates but also want to add in — I think bowls that are the right size for teapots are hard to come by. Either too high of walls or too short. Also...

Re: TXPCeramics
If you’re up for a commission….one piece of teaware that I have never seen and that I would love to have is a larger (250 mL) Shiboridashi, glazed inside, and with a handle. I like to prepare and share tea at work, and I do not have good access to a good sized and tea ware friendly sink, so making ...

Re: TXPCeramics
Haha yes, good teapots are definitely more difficult to make well. I'm been practicing my teapots, but none of my prototypes are quite good enough just yet.

Re: TXPCeramics
Ragamuffin nice to have a member making teaware. One of my architecture students from the 90s now makes ceramics as well. I love using her small plates as heat and spillage catchments for my teapots and especially enjoy touching and seeing contrasting unglazed to variegated glazed textures. Thank y...

TXPCeramics
Hello there! My name is Thomas Perez and I have been a TeaForum member for a couple years now, though I've mostly been lurking in the shadows. I have also been practicing ceramics for a while now and recently opened an Etsy shop as TXPCeramics https://www.etsy.com/shop/TXPCeramics?ref=profile_header...
