Re: New white vs. Old White Tea. Which do you prefer and why?

I bought Feng Qing wild white (hojo) a couple of years ago, been drinking on and off and I find it has improved tremendously. So I guess I might prefer aged.

Re: Article: 8 Popular Tea Bag Companies That Contain Illegal Amounts of Deadly Pesticides

One of my acquaintances used to urge me to take some homeopathic/herbal medicine with the statement 'it can't be harmful, it's purely natural'. My first reaction to that 'so is strychnine' . There's definitely cons to the way some companies are approaching GMO (in my opinion), but food safety isn't ...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

I'm drinking a single tree puer from Hojo. Very nice taste. I bough only one bag last year as it wasn't that cheap but now the bag is nearly gone I f ind myself wondering what it'd be like in a few years time. (I just recently brewed up some of his WuLiang Shan in a clay pot and was surprised at how...

Re: 2019 Vendor List

On the french tea forum there is a compilation with links[1] to every post that is (or can be read as) a tasting note with all those links ordered per specific tea (tea name, vendor, year). This way anyone interested can quickly find other users' opinion on tea/vendor. Of course compiling such lists...

Ah yes, I had this tea from Hojo. I'm not much for describing all the things I taste but it was a very enjoyable tea. Will definitely look for another bag this year.

I'm enjoying Hojo's hojicha these days. I don't have any comparison to place it against but it's a very enjoyable tea.

Re: Japanese tea caddies

If you don't mind dropping a significant amount of pennies, you could take a look at pewter caddies. The workshop here in Malaysia makes air tight ones (I've seen them in the shop. They're too pricey for me) and they come in a variety of classical and artistic designs. https://my.royalselangor.com/c...

I'm drinking a Yun Feng from Hojo. A bit of an impulse buy; definitely not regretted but I think Mao Feng remains my favorite Chinese green.

Re: Yellow Spots on Yixing Clays

I won't claim to be knowledgable but it looks similar to the surface of a pot I bought from YS last year ( https://yunnansourcing.com/collections/ ... apot-130ml ). From the description, I guess it's sand.

Re: Questions about storing tea in fridge

I remember reading a Hojo post saying that you shouldn't refrigerate tea... I'm having trouble finding it now though. I'm not sure whether we read the exact same post but what I remember is that you can store unopened packs in the fridge. Just remove them long before opening, otherwise warmer and r...

Black Tie Guan Yin. I can't really appreciate the greener stuff, it has to be dark and with a good roast for me.

Re: Sencha + fertilizer

Fertiliser, no matter the type, isn't bad for you. However, it can be quite bad for the soil and environment in general, depending on the type and how it's used. That's of course true in general but with respect to tea leaves the usual theory is that fertilized plants grow faster which leads to les...
