Great question! I'll offer two picks:
If it's "I'm not feeling very well" sad, I might reach for a nice aged Shou Mei... aged white tea just has a healing vibe to me.
If I'm trying to get out of a slump, Japanese green like Gyokoro (or any green for that matter) usually makes me feel energized

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
Halfways through my (first) yancha order from Wuyi Origin. Finished (aged) Lao Cong Shui Xian 2013, Bai Ji Guan 2023, Rou Gui 2023, some more to go. Pretty good tea, esp. the first two were excellent (lots of leaf in a small porcelain teapot, brewing by feel but weighing the leaf). This is the firs...

Re: Transporting teas when moving internationally
I don't know about large ammounts, but I once carried 1 Kg of rolled emerald jade green tea in an unmarked, vaccum sealed mylar bag. I flew to the U.S. from Germany, no problem!

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking
@Darrel Thanks for the reccomend. I have been really enjoying saving my first steep till the end of the session with Yencha. Love how the floral and fruity notes pop out when the brew cools down! This was a session of Shui Xian, with a really mellowed out roast.

Re: Taiwanese pots
let me share a gem of mine - this teapot made by Chen Yi Zhi 陳奕志 (I hope I don't misspell the name) - it's almost eggshell thin, very light, and pours awesomely smooth. The clay is non-porous at all, something that reminds me high-fired red Tokoname teapots and very smooth Zhuni in the same time. I...

Thought this Zhuni was looking pretty good with the light from my office window. Making a Gushu Sheng puher from 2011.

Re: Your day in tea
I am in the Austin, TX area for a wedding, and thought i'd take my Dad to West China Tea. I've never been before, but Sohan's "Gong Fu TeaCha" videos helped get me started with my obsession! It was great meeting him, and we tried a lot of great teas. His "Smoke bomb" Young sheng and "Stone Axe" Shou...

Having some Old Style Dong Ding from The Steeping Room. Pretty classic roasted profile-- floral, fruity, with a lingering stonefruit aftertaste! also showcasing my "Office setup."

Re: Lapsang Souchong
Funny this thread has been having some recent traffic, because I just tried Lapsang Souchong from Steeping Room for the first time! I am quite agreeable to a nice smokey note -- it reminds me of some of the single malt Scotches I used to enjoy! Since I don't drink alchohol anymore, this is a really ...

Nothing like a late night tea session to help stay up until midnight! Drinking some Qi Dan Yencha in my 70s F1 pot... Pretty standard Yencha profile -- spicy, fruity, with a touch of minerality.
