Re: Teaware B&W Appreciation

quite simple in retrospect. When I've attempted to capture drops, it usually involves a lot of finagling and tripods--leaving my hands free to manipulate what is creating the drops at a fixed distance from the lens. In one case, when I was playing with honey, I suspended a bag with a tiny hole cut ...

Love this capture, and wondering where the drops came from--how was that set up?

Hey, thanks! The drops were water from the tray being lifted up by the pot and dropping down. To capture, I actually shot as a slow motion video and saved the best frame!

Re: The best sheng pu-er tea to try

This is a very disingenuous and misleading post. I feel the need to step in and caution anyone, especially puerh newbies, from approaching sheng puerh in this old-fashioned and frankly, outdated perspective that has led to the obfuscation of what good puerh tea is. If I may draw the analogy to wine...

Re: What Pu'er Are You Drinking

Drinking 2010 7542 from Teas We Like. I haven't had this tea for a while, and as soon as I rinsed it I was reminded how much I love it. The aroma is sweet, with a pretty prominent "barnyard" smell akin to hay. Maybe it's because this was the first Pu'er I ever tried, but this remains a 10/10 cup! I ...

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

A beautiful summer day in Colorado, enjoying some "Old Style Dong Ding" from The Steeping Room. Nothing exciting, fussy or unique, just a classic easy-going session. I like my Taiwanese Oolongs more on the roasty side, and this one delivers! I'm no sommelier, but I'd say it has deep floral and stone...

His tea education videos on YouTube were always pretty good. I was actually disappointed when they had to cancel it.
Agreed! I posted about meeting So-han when I went to Austin last January. He's a good guy to have tea with, if one gets the chance!

Not something to uplift, distract, or to heal - but to delve deeper and perhaps to pass through
I like the way you phrased this. I feel like I should self-examine that my knee jerk reply was "fix it," not "feel it."

This is developing into one of my favorite threads.

Re: What's your tea of choice when you're sad?

Great question! I'll offer two picks:

If it's "I'm not feeling very well" sad, I might reach for a nice aged Shou Mei... aged white tea just has a healing vibe to me.

If I'm trying to get out of a slump, Japanese green like Gyokoro (or any green for that matter) usually makes me feel energized :)

Re: What Oolong Are You Drinking

Halfways through my (first) yancha order from Wuyi Origin. Finished (aged) Lao Cong Shui Xian 2013, Bai Ji Guan 2023, Rou Gui 2023, some more to go. Pretty good tea, esp. the first two were excellent (lots of leaf in a small porcelain teapot, brewing by feel but weighing the leaf). This is the firs...
