Re: 2024 Chinese green tea thread

Seven cups already ran out of stock of one of their 2 new types of tea for 2024. Must be popular. I personally have tried spring teas previously from Yunnan sourcing and also a few from Alex of Yunnancraft (2023 harvest) who frequents this forum and I've enjoyed both. I thought a Hou Kui from Alex w...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic

You shop for a lot of Japanese tea it sounds like, are there vendors with similar selection and variety of single origin Japanese tea that you have used? I feel like I've not seen many Japanese vendors with a selection quite like TDJ. I've been in a mainly oolong phase for the longest time now, exp...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic

JPY doesn't work for my European address either. That's really disappointing. I've shopped pottery & teas at JPY prices (though I did make the mistake to pay in USD and then EUR on my 1st and 2nd orders before noticing what's going on and was somewhat disgusted by the difference even then). This st...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic

I think we are talking about the .com site here. I was referring to the actual name . "Thés du Japon" ... , so I assume the western cooperating counterpart is FR. And the only explenation which comes into my mind here is that the deal between JP and FR has changed , so the payments in yen and other...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic

I'm failing to understand why I'm not allowed to get the yen price if I bear the cost of the conversion from USD to JPY. If I'm paying in their native currency, then I don't see the functional difference between me or someone in Japan paying for the same thing. I'm still paying for the shipping as ...

Re: Green Tea Vendor Topic

Disappointing to hear, I was very happy with the deal and purchase price of tea I got there with my last order and was planning on another. The tea quality is still worth what they're asking in USD, but mentally it feels bad after getting such prices not long ago were I to order again.

Re: Yunnan Craft

I have been meaning to post something about some of the tea I got but I have only had a few sessions with each so far. So far I have one in particular I'm quite fond of. ( I expected it to be good and it didn't disappoint) I have done boiling and near boiling, not sure your thoughts on temperature w...

Re: 2023 Shincha Harvest tea recommendations?

Just placed an order on Thes Du Japon, some of their shincha offerings, a gyokuro and a few other things like a beginner kyusu. Pretty excited to dive in to Japanese tea proper. I love love thesdujapon gyokuro and I'm still enjoying his last year senchas. I have stored them well and I think they tas...

Re: 2023 Shincha Harvest tea recommendations?

Welp... After waiting a bit and looking around I ended up pulling the trigger on a few items from Yuuki-Cha (who are offering 13 items at posting). I didn't really have anything particular in mind this year, and it's been quite some time since I've thrown some business their way, so I figured, "Why...

Re: Yunnan Craft

The fresh mao cha you like drinking , I can only assume , that would be the one with higher temp. kill green ( aka Xin Gong Yi - new concept puerh ) which promotes the aroma and sweetnes above the bitternes and astringancy . We generally buy traditional concept of processing mao cha because we beli...

Re: Yunnan Craft

Hello This year harvest was very poor ( too dry ) , so not much tea around. Some trees this year weren't even harvested. We significantly reduced of stocking up a loose puerh due to the very low sell and high in volume ( taking up too much of storage ). Beacuse of the scarcity ( good loose leaf lim...

Re: Yunnan Craft

Hello. I still need to order my set of fresh 2023 tea and I've been waiting for stock at some certain sites (Thes du Japon for one) and I think I'm going to give Yunnan craft a try as far as the Chinese side of fresh teas are concerned. I've noticed it seems some vendors seem to be taking longer to ...
